My experience with Young America l has been great from the start. When I was looking for an apartment, they were super friendly and helpful during the leasing process, making everything really easy to understand. The tour went smoothly, and they answered all my questions. Now that I’m actually living here, I’ve been really happy with how things are run. The maintenance team is on top of things—any time I’ve needed something fixed, they’ve taken care of it quickly and efficiently. Overall, I’ve had a really positive experience with them!

Young America has been a great service for me as a first-time renter. I’ve been on a time crunch to find a good apartment to suit me and my little cat Toasty, and YA has taken away so much of my stress.
I was connected with agent Joe, who was very accommodating and answered all of my questions. Everything was easy to understand, and he always responded quickly! He’s been very friendly and offered impressive service. I definitely recommend Young America!

I have had many good experiences at Young America and have also made great friends because of it. The area is at a great location and makes it easy to walk to class. Our space is pretty big so we usually host a lot of gatherings and birthday parties. Our friends love to come over. Our neighbors are friendly and we’ve never had complaints. One of my favorite memories here was tailgate and playing cup pong with each other outside!

Requested to apply for an apartment property in BLM. This realty company has some of the most beautiful properties in the BLM-Normal area. I got a message from an agent named Juan. Communication started off well. As we continued to text for 2 more days after I requested multiple times for a phone conversation I continued to get text messages. Once I told him my options and that I would be willing to move in early, (as they do not hold units) and I was ready to apply before I made my decisions for my current place I started to get less, and less communication. He seemed to couldn’t follow the flow of the conversation and would not say anything much but that “they do not hold units”. I asked for a phone call once more and received no response. It seems I was not even given a fair chance and was counted out, or was not good enough to rent through them. That is how it made me feel, it may not be how it was. I called the office several times to try and get in contact with someone other than the agent Juan, when that failed I figured God did not want that for me so I passed on the property and the entire company in a whole. From my experience I would not recommend this company for housing. Some people have other experiences with them but this is mine. Very unsatisfied.

Decent apartments. A little pricey, but the maintenance always comes quick and is good about fixing the issues. Always nice also. The staff at young america are very friendly and welcoming. It's a little hard to get a hold of the customer service staff where they explain your bills/lease.

Most every time we put in a maintenance request, someone is at our apartment within a day. Young America is very responsive. Along with this, Jorge and Mac are great at ensuring students get the apartment they want and understand everything about it. I’m very thankful I live at Young American and i would recommend them to anyone.

I’ve never had a problem with YA. The houses that I’ve lived in have always been good. I love the maintenance. They’re always there in short notice. I think it’s a great organization that cares about their people. They give back by doing charities giveaways which is awesome.

The communication and responsiveness of Young America Realty is atrocious. This is my story from the perspective of someone TRYING to be a lessee. I WANTED to give them business and was trying to rent a town home. Scheduling the showing took way longer than any other realty company that actually wants your business. The showing itself was decent along with the realtor. However, the next day after filling out the application form I had received an email from YA about my rental residence history. I replied with evidence which matched what I already had in the application form. I called over 6 times over the span of a work day and emailed them 7 times and texted several times. I got no response in email, finally got a response in a phone call where I was put on hold and then hung up on, and eventually got my texts answered after hours. You would think if they wanted business they would be efficient and punctual in communication. Furthermore, when I received the lease for review, I had noticed an HOA clause that did not match the listing information which stated HOA would pay for lawn care and garbage removal where as the lease said the opposite. Also, the contract reads in a manner that puts the lessee in a disadvantaged position and is quite intimidating. Take it from me - I used to work at a law firm. This is an appalling contract. I had questions about the lease and never got a reply. Wouldn't you think a realty company would be prompt in trying to acquire business? Then I read the reviews on Google and Yelp...and it finally all made sense.
