I’ve been renting the same apartment in Sycamore for about 7 years now. Marilyn and Tricia have really impressed me the last couple years! Whenever something is in need of repair Tricia is constantly communicating with us tenants (what’s broken/when someone will come to fix it/when it’s fixed)! They also have made several improvements to the building. Marilyn is fair, honest, professional, and respectful. Tricia is kind, communicative, a joy to talk to, and prompt. I really do enjoy renting from Yamber Real Estate.

I just want to say that I have nothing but praise and respect for yamber real estate team of Marilyn and Tricia. They have gone out of their way to make sure to make life easier. The maintenance staff is always polite and gets things done in a timely manner. You couldn't ask for a more professional staff and wouldn't hesitate to give them a high score if asked. We have rented from Yamber for about a year and a half. We love them! In the beginning we wanted this other property of theirs but it went really fast. Marilyn quickly emailed me about another one that happened to be better and wasn't even on their site yet! The maintenance guy is always there in a reasonable time if something goes wrong and always fixes whatever it may be. I have read some of these negative reviews and think to myself "what are these people talking about". If you respect the property and follow the rules you will be treated in a professional manner. I also have read some reviews that their rental space was dirty when they moved in from the tenants before.....ummmm...management takes you through your rental space so YOU can inspect it and also so you can mark off all things wrong with the property before you move in. Yamber is great to rent from and they are very affordable.

10 days after I moved into a Yamber property I received an unprofessional letter based on complaints from neighbors. I requested contact from Marilyn immediately. It took 3 days. I received an email, professionally detailing my complaints of the letter. The issue was eventually resolved and we are in good standing.
I understand the need to control unruly tenants. I am disappointed that it was assumed that I am unruly simply by a negative tenant's perspective. I have lived in the property one month and do not expect further altercations as the (very late) response was handled effectively.

I own several rentals in the DeKalb area. Over the last 10 plus years I have had several property management companies. Yamber is by far the best. They are quick to effect repairs at a reasonable price. They are kind but firm with tenants. They get vacancies cleaned up and re-rented quickly. They are excellent about background checks etc. They actually physically visit the properties on a regular basis and give me updates. Best of all they have made a struggling property profitable.

I can only assume the positive reviews are for Yamber Properties and not Yamber Real Estate. My wife and I got stood up for two appointments/showings...one last Saturday and again today. I can only imagine how inattentive they are to their tenants as they can't even take 15 minutes out of their day for showings to possible renters. I can understand if they don't want to show apartments on the weekends and if that's the case, they should not make those appointments. I see we aren't the only people they've done this to. What a complete waist of our time. We've lost all faith and trust with this company and will definitely NOT be renting from them.

I work in DeKalb, but since my main home is about an hour away, we bought a house in DeKalb to stay there while I work in DeKalb. Since we are not professional renters, we always struggle to find an honest, reliable renter. Marilyn and Trisha at Yamber Reality helped us to do exactly that.
