Mayor told me WE are responsible for our ditches even tho they own the easement. I will not maintain mine again. They allow us to flood and we can't get flood insurance due to massive payouts...my yard will always be perfect but I will never again maintain my ditches....make sidewalks as the law requires and maybe flooding will stop.

I am originally from Southern Illinois, and had left for a few years for my career. After moving back, the city of Marion has grown exponentially from what I remember. New local businesses, new groups focused on growth, new passion within the community. I am so thankful that we moved back, and I am proud to be a part of the Marion community. Great things are coming for The City of Marion, and I cannot wait to be a part of it.
