We contracted Steffen Builders to finish our basement and had a very positive experience working with them. We absolutely love EVERYTHING about the finished product and owe that to the hard work, attention to detail, and high level of quality demonstrated by the team at Steffen.

When we first met with Jordan he really worked to understand what we wanted to do with the basement. He offered some suggestions on how to accomplish certain things and provided all options along with the pros and cons of each. In addition, he was the only contractor that broke out the quote item by item so we could understand where the spend was going. This allowed us to work together to adjust certain things on the quote to get us to a number that was within our budget.

Throughout the entire process Jordan was extremely collaborative. When anything was not clear or could have been done more ways than one, Jordan always made sure to check with us before he would proceed without slowing down the project. We very much appreciated that and know that isn't something you find with most contractors. Often, they'll be looking to finish things as quickly and as cost efficiently as possible but that was not Steffen. This really shined as we worked with Jordan and his father Dean on the design of our fireplace and the custom cabinetry for our bar area. We also appreciated working with a local family owned business.

Getting to spend the early stages of the project with Jordan and Coby and the later stages with Darcy and Dean not only had a personal touch, but the team ensured continuity throughout the process. The work was high quality and done correctly the first time. All of Steffan's sub-contractors (plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, stonework, and flooring) were very friendly, professional, detail-oriented, and collaborative.

Steffen Builders provided an exceptional customer experience. They are always honest and very easy to work with. Combine that with the fact that they do high quality work and you'd be hard pressed to find anyone better for your build project. We cannot recommend them enough and if we ever have more home work that needs to be done, they will be the first company we call!

We have had the pleasure of working with the Steffen family on several remodeling projects. Our most recent project was turning our unused formal living room into a beautiful library that our whole family enjoys. The cabinetry was all custom made by Steffen Builders in their workshop and we couldn't be happier.
