Tom is fantastic! When my family was looking to move to the northern Chicago suburbs from out of state, we knew we needed someone with specific skills to guide buying from a distance. I came across his profile online and the first thing I noticed was he is a certified military relocation professional. Then I noticed his past experiences as claims adjuster for insurance companies and a firefighter, and that he’s in the top 5%. He seemed like the perfect choice to be able to spot issues for us, even if we weren’t there. And I must say, we weren’t wrong. Tom spent time getting to know us, our wants, and our needs, not only for a house, but also for a neighborhood that would be a good fit for our family. He very quickly pointed us toward several areas to focus on. Then, as we started seeing listings in those areas and others, he was able to point out things about homes that could become something we’d regret, or about neighborhoods that wouldn’t really be what we want. When I did fly out for one weekend, even though there weren’t any homes we were particularly interested in, he cleared his schedule and showed me around not just houses, but neighborhoods and key areas. He was spot on in his assessment of places we’d like, and light bulbs went off like “I get it.” By the time we were really ready to buy, I felt like I had a very good idea about where we wanted to be and what our money could buy, We didn’t waste time on the *very pretty in pictures but wont meet our needs* listings. When “our” house popped up, we recognized immediately this could be the one! We might not have noticed it stand out in the sea of others without his effort and guidance. We asked for a video showing immediately with full trust that he’d pick up on any issues. We ended up making an offer on the first day, having never stepped foot in it, on what turned out to be a solid home that checks all the boxes, confident it is where we want to be. We had competing offers, but with his guidance, we got our offer just right without overspending or even being the highest bidder. Since we weren’t there, he was able to connect us to all the right people to have a seamless closing, then met up with contractors on our behalf to make some changes before we moved in. It was a top notch experience all the way! 100% recommend.
