We became interested in WPG at University Park early in their development of the neighborhood. Only a few homes were built and occupied at the time. We visited Tom Laurita and the model homes too many times to count. We decided on the single story Esprit home. We were lucky to get in early and choose a lot that we still are very happy with.
Tom was very helpful throughout the long process of building, purchasing and finding vendors that would provide services after the home was delivered. We went through many discussions on financing but ultimately closed escrow without using a lender.
Tom was terrific and we enjoyed our interactions with him.
There was no need for contact with the builder. WPG does use an outside service for selection of finishes and special add-ons. That worked well but we would have preferred an in-house service. The outside service requires an extra step or two that could be avoided since it puts a middle vendor between the builder and the buyer. The turnover of the house was conducted by a WPG representative and there were very few items that needed attention. They were all taken care of immediately and there has been no need for any follow-up.
We are very happy with the quality of the construction and Tom is an outstanding person who is trustworthy, knowledgeable, fair minded and friendly.

Being a brand new project with no model homes to tour, Chad was fantastic, and easily communicated with great detail, the timeline and overview of the project. This review was edited 3 months after move-in to reflect the extremely poor customer service we have received from WPG and their representatives. The old review is being left up because Chad, the sales rep, is still awesome, and is the only reason for the extra star. Unfortunately, he cannot help us anymore now that we own the home.

We were told that it would be easy to submit repair requests through an online portal. Not only has it been extremely difficult to get any repairs covered, their customer service rep is a real piece of work (extremely condescending, bullying and rude). He has ignored service requests, deleted them in the system, and screamed at us to comply with his repair timing (through our RING camera, no less), when he provided ZERO notice of need to access the property. He is literally a frightening person and we have been given no other person to deal with.

The problems with the home have now become apparent and I do NOT recommend buying with WPG.

OLD REVIEW:

If I could give a million stars for the lead salesperson at Nova/University Park, Chad Ross, I would. We really only bought the house because of him. Don't get me wrong, we're so glad we bought the house, because we LOVE it, but I just don't think we would have gotten across the finish line without him. Especially since we did the deal long distance.

Chad's sales technique is to simply be the best when it comes to knowledge, pricing, comps, floor plans, and options, without being pushy or demanding. His customer service is top notch. He answers questions mornings, noon, and night, even on his days off, including all the dumb ones, with ease and patience. He rushed over to our house to take measurements for our furniture, he met us at the property just so we could show our friends, he answers a ton of post-sale questions even though its not his responsibility, and he's referred an amazing team of tradespeople that we adore and trust to manage our upgrades and maintenance. I now call him our RA (Resident Advisor) because he really is the leader of our little motley crew over here at University Park. He's everyone's friend and I can see why.

It takes a lot to impress me in real estate because I'm a licensed Realtor. I know firsthand how awful we can be. 😉 That's what makes Chad so extraordinary. He can handle tough questions and tough people. Although he belongs to the builder, I never felt that he was hiding the ball or working against my interests. He was direct, honest, and always willing to work an issue up the chain of command if we were unhappy with something in the escrow outside of his control. TEN STARS for Chad Ross.
