Your agent, Melissa Jordan, was terrific, helpful, resourceful, and accommodating. The studio was more than I could ever hope for! I love it. I’ve already decorated the fireplace.

Only two problems…very little parking and no refrigerator. I can’t afford to get one until the new year!

Overall I have had a negative experience with this management company. When it comes to roach infestations they will send a technician however many of the residents including myself had to take matters into our own hands by buying our own supplies to help eradicate the problem. When it comes to communication with the owners it is nearly impossible to speak with anyone other than the on-site Property Management or their spokesperson Yelena. While I have had nothing but positive interactions with Yelena and on site management, it has seemed nearly impossible to speak with any actual owners. When it comes to the pricing of the units I would say that the pricing is overpriced however that is merely my own opinion and everyone is entitled to that. I was very disappointed in my stay at their St Andrews location because of the lack of fixing issues involving the plumbing. I have an issue, whenever I wash dishes, the sink becomes over flowed with water as seen in the images. The sink in the apartment underneath me becomes overflowed with water. It has been an ongoing problem despite plumbing coming out to address the issue several times. When it comes to the finish of the apartment there were many things that I noticed after I had moved in. There were gaps in the floor panels and the lining of the entire apartment. I also noticed that many of the finishing's were rushed. If possible definitely choose another property management company because there are other options that are better.

They don’t reply to any emails so our Jefferson park property we rent from went from one crappy property management company to another. It’s been over two weeks since i sent out an email and since my partner did as well to our new “property manager”, Jackson and to their company’s info email provided on their website with no response or acknowledgement from anyone to either of our emails. Can’t imagine how a maintenance request would be dealt with 🙄

This is a 0 star post. We lived at 339 western ave in Glendale. We moved in and the address they gave us wasn’t registered in us post office which was the first sign that something was off. Gas was not turned on, during move in day. This company is literally just trying to make money off you they don’t care about fixing things in your apartment, even when they did send people to fix our apartment they couldn’t speak English which is a problem because repairs couldn’t be accurately explained to workers. They never answer and when they do finally answer it’s weeks later and never really offer a solution. Also, trash was rarely picked up and bin would always overflow leaving trash all over the ground. They claimed when we moved out as well that it cost 1,700 dollars to repaint in a less than 700 sq ft apartment and offered us 200 bucks back from our 2,700 deposit, a literal spit in the face. They tried to charge us for upgrades on the apartment that the apartment never came with, in order for the next tenants to be set up with everything we didn’t have. Don’t expect anything from the actual owner of the property either just as useless as this property manager

I would never recommend renting any Weststar property or use any real estate broker complicit in the scam they set up. We also lived at 339 Western Ave. in Glendale and had a very similar experience as the other review. When we moved in we were not provided any contact information for our property manager, I was able to find out her name and information only by asking other tenants in the building. Chatting with other residents confirmed our situation, maintenance requests take a minimum two weeks for a response and our property manager Dulce Martinez is virtually unreachable, responding to voicemails and emails months later.
We experienced a continual series of minor maintenance issues since our move-in in May, but since the first week of October our tub backed up and nearly overflowed anytime the apartment above us showered or drained their tub. Multiple times a week our apartment was filled with a foul odor and our tub was completely full of sludge and sediment from the pipes. We submitted maintenance request after maintenance request only for a plumber to come, snake our drain, and the issue to happen again the next day. As of our move-out in mid-April, the issue was still not resolved after constant emails since October asking our property manager to assist with this issue. Only after submitting our request to vacate did we receive contact from Olena at Weststar stating they would only fix the issue if we renewed our lease for another year. Asking around, the previous tenant in our unit moved out for the same plumbing issue, leading us to believe this is a multi-year problem.
After trying to schedule our pre-move-out inspection for five weeks prior to the end of lease, we were only contacted four days before move-out, making it virtually impossible for us to perform any needed repairs. During the inspection, the vendor Cesar Baldassariore, the contractor who would be making the repairs after we leave, insisted that our sliding screen door did not lock despite us demonstrating in front of him that the door, in fact, locks. He also, against California Civil Code, refused to provide to us a list of items that failed inspection. Weststar withheld $1,300 of our security deposit claiming they needed to paint the entire unit, despite the fact painting is considered normal wear and tear, and to repair the lock to the screen door. We were also charged for changing the locks on the mail box, front door, two air fresheners, general cleaning supplies such as window cleaner, microfiber cloths, and hardwood floor polish (there are no hardwood floors in the unit), and two smoke detectors. We were billed for a toilet paper holder, towel bar, and four blinds (the unit only has 3 windows), all which did not come with the apartment upon move-in. We had to furnish these items at our own expense, and were instructed to remove them upon move-out. Despite this, we were still charged. Weststar unlawfully withheld the majority of our security deposit to make renovations to the unit.

NO NO NO
The rates were tempting. I saw the address and went early evening to see the place, as I pushed open the gate that leads from the complex to the alley this young lady and her friend almost hit me with their car (garage unit 8) in the alley.
Her garage was on the other side of the complex from where they gate door i pushed open. While I'm still standing with the gate open, they started yelling at me "if you damage my car.." I was so shocked. I had a little girl with me and she didn't know what to do. As we walked back on to the property forward the front of the apartment complex , (complex doesn't face street they face sideways) they are behind me swearing and yelling insults. We kept walking as they followed us to the street.
Knowing this is the kind of people you rent to, I won't rent from you.
Good prices, yucky tenants/neighbors.

Poor experience. I viewed an apartment in the beginning of August and was shown a 1 bedroom apartment. I was informed that there was a 1 bedroom apartment available September 1st, and would be a different floorplan. I foolishly agreed and signed a lease, under the reasonable expectation that “comparable floorplan” did not mean smaller. Prior to move in, i had tried on multiple occasions to call the office and get ahold of someone to speak with. Impossible to get ahold of anyone to request details and photos, as none of the extensions work. The only response i got back was when Westar was quick to respond when they realized they sent me the incorrect lease with a cheaper monthly rent. Weststar is now refusing to refund my deposit. Not only am I scrambling to figure out a living situation, but i am out almost $2,000.

EDIT: In Response to the Owners Comment Below, this issue was NEVER addressed directly 5 months later. I was never contacted, left voicemails, and no one at west star EVER took Initiative to contact me. If you wanted to address the issue, the owner himself or one of the managers would reach out to me personally. If I could write a zero star review, I would. Not sure why you would say this has been adressed when it clearly has not.
