Not What I Expected 👎
While the appearance of the property initially seemed appealing, my experience, unfortunately, left much to be desired. I gave this place a star for its aesthetics, but several negative aspects became apparent after recommending it to a family friend who was considering renting an apartment here.

Key concerns include:
• Noise: The constant loud train noise makes the location less peaceful.
• Safety: The property is situated behind an older, unsafe commercial building and warehouses, with poorly lit and intimidating streets at night.
• Unprofessional Management: The team handling the property was surprisingly rude and dismissive, lacking basic professionalism and respect when addressing client concerns.

For those considering renting here, I strongly advise reviewing these issues carefully. I’ve attached a few photos to help provide perspective on the complex’s surroundings. The high price does not reflect the quality or safety one would expect.

I’ve been living here for over three years and love it! It’s very beautiful and relaxing here. The clubhouse is absolutely stunning and I’ve had multiple events there. I love all the features of our apartment as well!
Over the years we have had some problems with our downstairs neighbor but Veronica, the apartment manager, has been more than amazing resolving any conflicts. Veronica always greets you with a smile and makes you feel like family!
I love the reassurance she gives when solving a conflict as well. Her communication and dedication to Vilara is an impeccable!
Maintenance deserves an applause as well for their quick response time! Any time we need anything they respond very quickly. Most of the time Carlos is the maintenance guy that helps us and he always gets the job done. He’s very knowledgeable and actually knows what he’s doing.

I’ve happily been a resident for over 2 years now. I recently just upgraded from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom. A review has long been overdue. My experience has been nothing but exceptional. By far the nicest complex I’ve lived at in regards to the upkeep, amenities, maintenance team, and management team.

After serving 8 years in the military I decided to make Vilara home. It was a big adjustment and I wanted to make sure I found a good, stress free place to live. I’d toured a few other complexes in the vicinity and Vilara stood out above the rest. Amenities are top notch, Noey and his maintenance team takes care of issues either the same day or next day, and the leasing office team is always quick to resolve issues or answer my questions. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Veronica since I moved here for both apartments. She’s been fantastic. Veronica, as well as Paulina, and Rick, always make sure my concerns are taken care of.

If you’re looking for an apartment complex with beautiful amenities, a solid maintenance team, and great management team, look no further.

A great place to live and most importantly, an amazing and helpful leasing team who is always there. Everyone on the team is great but I have always dealt with Simona and let me tell you she is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. I didn't get the chance to visit the apartment complex before my move as I was moving from miles away but Simona has been so helpful and she has made the process so smooth for me. Also, Michael is so friendly and attentive, such a sweet guy. There were many other options to consider but I went with Vilara due to the incredible staff. Vilara is a beautiful community with great amenities and very well maintained.

We moved here when the complex was brand new during the worst time to move due to the pandemic. The staff was and are the most friendly, useful, kind, and understanding people you can ever find. My little girl is 5 now and she has been here since 1. She calls this place home, that is very important to me. This complex is safe, clean, very well attended, and overall extraordinary. Veronica, is the one staff member that remains a constant member of our Vilara Apartments family. She has always been respectful, efficient, and understanding when needed. I do not believe one can find a a better place to call home in Orange County, CA. Vilara forever!! Viva Vilara!!

Super sketchy upon move out. We were charged $500+ for complete carpet replacement since Vilara claimed there was "pet damage". Our dog has never ever had one single accident inside since I brought her home at 8 weeks old. Did not matter that we had been told & reassured by the maintenance team at our final inspection that the carpet company would be able to tell if there was pet damage or not. I told Vilara multiple times that it was not possible that we could have any pet damage- did not matter. We spent a week deep cleaning the apartment since we had been told we could clean it ourselves & not be charged a cleaning fee- only to be charged $200+ for cleaning. Also fixed every wall scuff mark & my husband repainted a lot of the apartment (with paint they provided) only to be charged $300+ for a "partial repaint" of the unit. All together, they took our entire $1,000 security deposit & charged us another $400 on top of that. $1,400 total for an apartment that was clean & damage free. Would hate to see how much someone who actually had damage to their unit would be charged. Massive scam.
Living here was as good as you can get for apartment living in OC, but they completely ruined their reputation & soured our experience by how we were treated & charged upon move out. We scheduled both initial & final inspections to ensure there was no damage we were not aware of. Both inspection days & times were confirmed via email with the office. Whoever was supposed to complete the inspections did not show up both times, so I had to call the after hours maintenance #. Thankfully a maintenance team member was able to come over fairly quickly to complete the inspection. We were not made aware of any damage that would result in us being charged $1,400 during these inspections. They quoted $150 for deep cleaning & mentioned the $300 for the partial repaint since that is apparently unavoidable no matter what you do. Said we should not be charged beyond that which was apparently a lie. Office did not seem to care that appointments were missed. Really appreciated Veronica & Paulina in the office. Paulina must have left so now Veronica is the only genuinely nice office team member. Everyone else could use a refresher in customer service skills.
Avoid if you don't feel like losing a ton of money upon move out.

My little family of 3 have lived at Vilara for a year and a few months, but we had to move due to my Husband’s job relocation. Even though it was short lived, we truly enjoyed our time there and loved our home. The Vilara team, Veronica, Michael, Simona, and the Maintenance team have always made our stay welcoming and comfortable. I wished we were staying longer! They were very attentive, helpful, and understanding. They made our departure seamless and gave us multiple options to break our lease before we left. They are an awesome group of people, very neighborly! The community and its amenities is also amazing! I’ve used their pools, clubhouse and gym, it’s always clean and well taken care of. I 100% recommend this location if anyone is interested in renting at Vilara. My little family and I loved it, we truly miss it! Thank you Vilara team for everything!

I have been living at Vilara for almost 4 years now. I cannot express how much I have enjoyed my time here.
The Vilara team, Veronica, Noai, and Michael have always been there when needed!
The maintenance team is always extremely responsive, professional, and friendly!
I know they are always just a call away! They quickly respond to maintenance requests, the office is always responsive to any emails, or phone calls.

The commendations they provide are great! The coffee, hot chocolate, and tea is great addition to the lounge! The pool table is always taken care of and in great condition!
The pool is beautifully designed and furnished with style and comfort!
I have really enjoyed my time and continue to do so!
I cannot thank the office and maintenance enough!
