As a land owner of approx 400 acres in New Hampshire, I considered UVLT and even contacted them as an option for conserving my land. However, after I learned more of how UVLT runs their organization, I felt entities such as UVLT are not to be trusted.

I have seen large swaths of land managed by UVLT that were fully clear cut with no trees remaining. It raises questions why the clear cut was performed and how the lumber revenue was used.

Additionally, County court provided the records of the VP of UVLT being arrested for trespass on 4/23/2025 (CASE NO. 427-2025-CR-00261). Further, the address the VP used when arrested was that of UVLT's address and not his personal address. Does that mean UVLT condones the actions of the VP? As of July 2025, the VP is still listed on UVLT's website.

I had hoped UVLT was an authentic land conservation management entity that worked to improve the environment. But I realize that funding this type of entity is very challenging and increasingly becoming impossible in today's environment.

I've crossed conservation land trusts off as no longer an option for my land.
