Good location, walk-able distance from lift/gondola/village

Location is good and pretty walk-able (about 15 min door-to-door from home to lift) through a 3-flight staircase, short walk through woods area and through the parking lot. May not be ideal for family w/ smaller children/toddlers if they are looking for ski-in ski-out option, as this is do-able for i would say 8-year-old and above. Studio itself is small/cozy, good for if you are spending most of the time outdoor doing skiing and activities. Again, location, location, location, and that's why this is a good property to look for.

Great place for family gathering
We had a wonderful time here! We were celebrating my mom's 96th birthday and she had the middle room. (there are stairs, but she's fine using railings!) The balcony with the hammock was a great place to hang out and the dining table was big enough for all of us! We thought the beds felt too hard, but after you lay in them, they conform to your body and are fine. We would definitely come back here! Beautiful area, beautiful house, responsive hosts!

Giving 1 star cause zero is not an option. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a management company. They rented us a condo under full construction which we discovered when we arrived after traveling all day to get there. Their customer service is the worst they dont respond and literally have no clue. Had to book a hotel and request a refund. They finally got back to me after I checked into hotel to tell me they could put me somewhere else. Too late since I already checked in. They agreed to refund me but not reimburse me for the hotel. Gas time and huge inconvenience for a trip that was planned months in advance. In addition vacasa spam emails you marketing material even after you unsubscribe multiple times. Literally worst company and experience!!

This property was great for my wife, our dogs, and me. It was quiet and relaxing, with plenty of room and a fireplace to make it cozy. The wi-fi and streaming were excellent, there was a full kitchen for us to cook healthy, and it was close to a great coffee shop, the lake, and plenty of trails. Definitely would stay again and recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in tahoe.

We rented this house for a weekend when we came the place had not been cleaned, Vacasa couldn’t send cleaners and they refused to refund us. It was 7PM on a Friday in Tahoe so we couldn’t find a different solution and ended up spending 4 hours cleaning the place and spent hours on the phone with vacasa and they never refunded us and were actually super rude, difficult to deal with and an unhelpful. Do not rent from this company!

House was very nice! Big enough for three couples. Lots of stairs though!
Some things need attention. Filthy barbecue we had to clean ourselves. Hot tub didn’t work. Master bath had one sink that didn’t work and ice machine didn’t work.

Beware. Do not rent at 14254 Herringbone Way Truckee, CA 96161. We booked our stay on Vacasa for 2/9-2/11. Amenities are okay at vacation rental but your cars WILL get stuck in driveway. Website does not warn travelers.
The driveway is the ONLY place to park in residential area during winter months where snow banks accumulate and plows run daily.
After spending several hours trying to exit driveway using every method available including help from a Good Samaritan neighbor who stated, “They shouldn’t rent this place. Everyone gets stuck. 4 cars were stuck here before you arrived.” We called insurance to have cars towed from driveway. Note in photos below: cars had chains.
The nightmare didn’t end there. The tow driver suggested we park on a flat parking space just up the road as our now freed cars were blocking traffic. 2 hours later our 2 vehicles were GONE. The innocuous parking space, measuring approximately 100 feet wide by 20 feet deep, with snow bank on three sides, and no address to alert vehicles it is private property is a tow trap. Your vehicle WILL get towed from 14036 Herringbone Way, Truckee without any warning and within minutes of parking there.
North Valley Towing & Recovery charged us $2600.00 to release our vehicles the next morning. This is a complete scam.
We were held hostage at our rental, not able to leave property for entire stay. Thank god we were able to get food delivery.
This was the worst travel experience of our lives. We forfeited 2 prepaid ski packages for 2 adults and 3 children and went hungry for 2 days because owners of rental don’t maintain there driveway during winter months.
It’s our hope that no family has to experience this nightmare.

Great home for small family reunion
Had a small family gathering of 6, but there were sofas or sleepers that could have accommodated 2 more. Beds were very comfortable and roomy, as well as bathrooms. Star of the show was the amazing lake view and breeze. Big house with lots of room for gathering to look at the lake and surrounding woods and other beautiful homes, amazing nightly views of the stars and large bbq area with 2 nice fire pits and large propane grill. Also very close to many activities.
