Started out the process of trying to use their services to both lease and manage my rental home. After repeated frustrating mistakes and misinformation they gave me, I decided to switch to leasing only. I have tried contacting them since regarding questions about the tenant application that they coordinated the lease for, and no one has returned my calls or emails. I would steer FAR clear of this organization and regret ever getting them involved with my property rental endeavors.

I have had a mostly good experience with TJC over that past 6 months that I have lived in one of their properties. Tonight I was locked out of my house because the keypads malfunctioned likely caused by subzero temps. I called the maitenence emergency line and was never able to get a hold of anyone. It disconnected me twice and then just went around and around on an automated message. Luckily, one of their maitenence guys, Geo, responded immediately when I called him after not getting a hold of anyone through TJC’s phone system. He came out to my house right away on a Saturday night and got me in. Again, I’ve had a mostly good experience overall with TJC and don’t have any major complaints. I’m very thankful to Geo for promptly getting me back into my house on a dreadfully cold night.

Changing my review after renting from this company. My advice, CAREFULLY read the lease before signing.

Beware, this company does not permit you to provide a lease break notice between 9/15- 12/31. And you are required to provide them with a 60 day notice, along with a one month rent payment lease break fee. We ended up buying a house, and provided our notice in mid- November and moving out by the beginning of January. But since we couldn’t officially “provide notice” until 1/1, we had to pay rent for the month of January AND February (since our 60 day notice didn’t officially begin until 1/1). So we were forced to pay 4.5 months of rent for breaking our lease. And pay rent for 2 months for a completely empty and fully cleaned unit after we moved out.

You are also required to use their cleaning company, which costed us $430 total ($300 + $130 for them to “wipe down” the baseboards and doors… have nooo idea why this wouldn’t be included in a move out clean!)! They then tried to charge us twice for the cleaning by withholding $300 on our deposit (thankfully we caught this). Insanity for a 900 sq foot apartment. This is twice what I’ve paid for move out cleans at the other properties I’ve rented.

Moral of the story, would NOT recommend renting from this company!!
