I recently toured a unit here because I was highly interested in what they had to offer from their website and let's just say I sent in an application the following day! Moving from PA to NJ prices are definitely an adjustment, but that is to be expected. I think that with these apartment you are paying for exactly what you receive! Most places I looked at prior to touring here wanted more money and they did not offer half of the amenities The Village had! This place was perfect for my needs as a soon to be graduate student looking to live alone. The process to apply was SEAMLESS and EASY TO UNDERSTAND! Holly was such a queen and so wonderful to work with and she had no problem with me calling regarding any questions I had. I wish I could remember the name of who gave me my tour, but she was super sweet and relatable as she used to live in PA and understood the transition to move to a new state. Overall, I was very satisfied with my interactions with the staff and I am very excited to begin living here starting in July!

Update 04/18:
I wrote a review last year based on my interactions with staff/touring units. Since then, I have lived here since July and I absolutely love my apartment so much, it is the perfect and most idea space for me! My neighbors are so friendly and we get along very well, they made me feel so welcomed in a new area! My apartment was so clean when I moved in and it was such an easy process to obtain my key and paperwork upon move-in. This area is safe and is quiet and peaceful. As I know this may be a concern for this searching for apartments, I have personally had NO experiences with bugs or mice in my unit, however, I do not live on a ground floor but even then I do not experience this or have any concerns regarding this

I lived here for four years. If not for work transferring me else where I would have renewed for a fifth year lease. The location was perfect, quiet, and full of friendly neighbors and staff. The office staff was always great to work with and talk too as they were always very professional. The maintenance team was always quick, timely, and courteous as well. They had the most professional maintenance staff I had ever experienced at a large apt complex. I would recommend the village to anyone. If I ever return to NJ, I would definitely look to reside at the village again.

I have been living at the village for about 4 months now, and I absolutely love it. I am currently renting a STUDIO apartment and it is plenty of space for me and my cat. The leasing office was very easy to approach, and Dana in the office was very helpful and kind! I see some one-star reviews about rent going up, but that is something you need to expect living in an apartment complex. I think the village is great quality for an affordable price in this crazy housing/renting market. Have you seen other complex's rates lol. I would recommend this complex to anyone searching for a safe and comfortable place to live.

Ngl I’m so disappointed for one the moment we moved bunch of ants apartment smelled like cigarettes no windows in bathroom or kitchen and the door in the bathroom wouldn’t lock we had to remove a part to lock it , cheap horrible stoves tiny kitchen , just months after moving our ac broke because everything they use in these apartments are super cheap but I mean the area is nice and quiet people seem to mind their business for the most part never really had any issues package's almost never get stolen when left in front of door step however there’s a locker room for delivery’s here’s the issue with it it’s only one and shared with the entire development so if u have no car and u have a big package or multiple u have to walk back with it petty far depending on which apartment your at also the fact that it’s shared it gets crowded the management literally trashes or returns to sender if packages are left too long but keep in mind 50% of the time it’s never a code provided because some drivers don’t do their job correctly so we never know its so disappointing. Smoking is allowed in these apartments however there should be a limit I mean i have a 1 year old and the second hand smoke gets so bad it travels from bathroom to living room and pretty sure our bathroom fans must connect because all the horrible smells come down my bathroom the maintenance man checked under the sink for any holes that might cause a stronger Odor and we quickly noticed both behind the sink and behind the washer had been covered I guess it was a problem before and still nothings changed it’s horrible why still rent this unit out. I was planing on staying here and moving into a two bedroom when my lease is up but this place is so disappointing in many ways don’t get me wrong nice area and one of the only places that allow certain dog breeds also they have washer and dryer in unit the main reasons I moved here however it’s almost not worth it with everything that’s been going on at least not for the price I mean 1600+ for a one bedroom i don’t know… Wish I would’ve knew sooner but I should’ve known when they wouldn’t allow a in person tour before signing the lease please never blindly walk into signing a lease.

Great Apartment and Affordable!
Pros:
I don't know why the rating is so low. This was my first apartment and I had a studio.

No it was not this fancy apartment like on TV, but it was very clean a little dated, but I could have paid extra for basically just updated cabinets. If you know basic decor design you can totally make the apartment look incredible just like a luxury apartment.

The carpet was very clean (I think it was new) around my 6 month there they replaced all the windows and put it new ones that kept the cold out better.

Maintenance was always very helpful, polite and quick. It also helps to know that your rent is actually going somewhere. They were always updating things about the complex. (ex: new stairs, pool area).

Office staff were always friendly and very helpful.

Cons:
I did not like the ac/heat unit. I don't know about all the units, but mine had one you would see in a comfort Inn. It did not have a timer and was loud. It kind of made it hard to use when sleeping or watching tv. Winter was kind of drag because of that.

Snow plowing around the complex could have been a bit less sloppy, but it wasn't anything to lose my head over. If you're from the Tri-state area you should know how to dig yourself out.

The washer dryer unit was on the small side. I only used it to wash a shirt or two and did laundry at my parents or boyfriend's.

Conclusion:
I mean that really was it. There wasn't anything horrible about living here. Even if you buy a house there is always going to be something you don't like. When you rent you can't fix everything yourself, but if the problems are like a 2 it's not that big a deal. You really are getting a great deal and my favorite part was that the Septa train was 3 minutes away and you're very close to supermarkets, the mall, library, restaurants within a 5 minute radius.

My girlfriend has lived here for the last two years and I’m so impressed by this apartment complex. The staff at the village were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The maintenance staff is so quick and thorough. The office at the village provided us with a warm and hospitable experience. We enjoy all the amenities at the village. They are top-notch and truly enhance the living experience. We are excited to see the new area they are upgrading. Couldn’t ask for a better place to live. Thank you Julia for all your help!

It’s a good starter apartment and I love the area but there is to much shady shit going on around here. My car got stolen almost a year living here and they don’t believe putting cameras up or extra lighting will do anything.

Changing our review from 5 star to 3 to reflect what feels like constant intrusions for “preventative maintenance”. The office emails out 8 hr blocks of time where they plan to enter your home to check on things. This happens several times per year. If you put in a maintenance request the form asks whether they have permission to enter or if you’d like them to schedule an appointment. If you put that you want them to schedule an appointment, expect to hear them unlocking your door at a random time the next day.
