Wow, where do I even begin? Working here was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, because once is all you’ll ever need to know better.
As a “leasing agent”, I was blessed with the opportunity to juggle three jobs in one: pre-leasing, serving both future and current residents, and oh yes don’t forget marketing. Because who needs a dedicated team when you have one underpaid employee wearing 17 hats and spinning plates?
The company clearly prides itself on squeezing every last drop of energy from its staff while giving back absolutely nothing but vague promises and more responsibilities. The word “greedy” doesn’t quite do it justice; this place is a full-on case study in corporate gluttony. The level of micromanagement mixed with zero support really creates a unique and soul-crushing atmosphere.
And let’s not forget the cherry on top: our Regional Manager. A true magician. She’s amazing at making emails disappear; especially the ones asking for guidance on projects or, God forbid, a raise to reflect the three-person workload she assigned me. I never got lucky to see an answer from her. I guess "communication" is just a suggestion here, not a requirement.
If you’re looking for a job where burnout is rewarded with silence and overwork is the standard, look no further. This place has it all… except basic respect for its employees. The only good thing about this job was my direct supervisor, that was it!

Working for The Michaels Organization (Wisconsin region) was one of the most toxic and disorganized experiences of my career. Leadership is absent, unprofessional, and retaliatory—especially at the regional level. Training? Nonexistent. Support? Promised but never delivered. Speaking up about real issues only gets you targeted.

I managed multiple properties without proper resources, while dealing with upper management that prioritized gossip and favoritism over team wellbeing. The turnover is outrageous for a reason—people aren’t leaving bad jobs, they’re escaping bad leadership.

This company could be great with the right people in charge. But until then, be cautious. Whether you're applying or planning to live here—you deserve better

I can confidently say Michaels is one of the best companies I've been a part of. The leadership team genuinely cares about its residents and employees. They consistently put people first. Always looking for ways to enhance communities while ensuring that employees feel supported both professionally and personally. The company culture is inclusive and collaborative.

I've had numerous opportunities for growth and development, thanks to the company’s commitment to continuous learning. My colleagues and managers are approachable, there’s a real sense of community here.

TMO manages Army housing at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas and they do it horribly. Their customer service is pitiful and their systems poor. Don't expect to get things fixed on time, or for them to charge your rent correctly out of your Basic Allowance for Housing. Do expect them to call you (and dozens more) days before Christmas to inform you that you owe $600+. Nice timing. This company is taking advantage of Soldiers, the US Government, and the taxpayer. I'm glad we don't deal with them anymore.

I lived at one of their properties for two years. They barely took care of anything and allowed seniors to live with appliances over 20 years old, ACs constantly breaking down, and horrible landscaping. If we had issues with the managers they would not respond. They appear to only be there to collect rent, didnt appear to care about the seniors who lived there at all! The managers are rude, unprofessional and manipulative.

Oooohhh boy...where do I start...let's see, blatant nepotism, lack of accountability, unprofessional community director, threats of being fired for leaving a all hands meeting, they hire literally anybody, toxic work culture, prime example being good techs get punished, bad techs get praise, HR doesnt care one bit. Can't maintain a full staff, this company is so toxic that I come home depressed and want to put a bullet in my brain. When someone does speak up about things that should be changed to boost company morale or come up with a good idea, that person is wrote up and threatened with being fired, even if what that person said or did IS NOT against company policy, they can't keep up parts in stocks due to the warehouse supervisor being incompetent and ordering wrong parts that he ends up throwing away, they allow the residents to treat the techs like garbage and brush any and all incidents under the rug, no matter how serious, vehicle maintenance is a joke, vehicles falling apart, vendors aren't paid, the list just goes on and on...it's not a place I'd make a career out of at all.

There is a growing culture of bullying, harassment, and unprofessional behavior in this company. Certain individuals, particularly in management, create a toxic environment by refusing to take accountability, intimidating others, and manipulating situations to serve their own interests. The operations manager, reacts with hostility when asked to do his job, and the other accounts person resists any attempts to hold her accountable. Both create unnecessary tension and frustration for employees.

The marketing manager is a blatant bully who uses intimidation to get her way, creating a hostile atmosphere for everyone. She and the operations manager often monitor security cameras, making employees feel constantly watched and uncomfortable. The assistant community director’s management style is ineffective, as she jumps to conclusions without gathering facts, contributing further to the toxic environment.

HR has done little to address these issues, and it’s clear that unprofessional behavior is tolerated here. The lack of accountability and respect makes this workplace unbearable, and the company’s leadership needs a major overhaul. This is not a healthy or supportive environment, and I would not recommend working here.

This review is in regards to the company itself and working for it.

This is a great company. It provides the perfect balance of work/life while also consistently lifting you up. The team im on provides each other with much support and praise for one another's work. I have the most amazing bosses (Rose & Brandon) and the most amazing coworkers.
The company is a good company to work for and it reflects not just by their benefits but by the people who are within the company.
