I just had a wonderful experience at the Jewelry Box having an old ring of mine reset in a new setting. After explaining what I was looking for they found the perfect setting in minutes! The setting was not only beautiful and affordable, the knowledge of the staff was excellent. Although they no longer have a retail store they have been part of the community for decades, and have a loyal following because of their honest and exceptional work. Can not recommend them highly enough.

I would stay away and recommend going somewhere else. I brought in a few pieces of jewelry for appraisal, I knew the weight of the jewelry and know my scale is accurate, and the prices did have some small stones and diamonds, when the lad came back with the offer and wrote the weight and price down they would offer, her weight was 5.4 grams (I watched her weigh both pieces together) less than what I weighed, I guess she thought she could guess the weight of the stones and diamonds and I would just so kindly let them have those for buying the gold. At the point I noticed the weighed difference I just declined the offer. They also never appraised the jewelry only gave an offer.
If you’re not sure what you have I would suggest another Jeweler or appraiser.

On June 27, 2024, I entered the store with 5 grams of scrap 14 karat gold. As of that date, the price of scrap gold was $43.56 per gram, resulting in a total value of $217.

Christine offered $123 for the gold, which represents 57% of its appraised value. I countered with $130, equivalent to 60% of the scrap gold's appraised value, but she declined this offer. Subsequently, I accepted Christine's initial offer of $123.

I am satisfied with the transaction and the jewelry box provided. Christine conducted herself in a professional and helpful manner throughout the process.

My parents passed and I wanted to get appraisal on few of their jewelry pieces. This place wanted to charge me lots $$$$ just for looking at them. Ridiculous !!! Other estate businesses do not do that. Guess they must charge lots for everything to be able to pay MSNBC for their NON STOP commercials featuring an old guy with old woman commercial talking about “trust”. Think about it, how do they pay for so many commercials. Commercials are on almost daily , multiple times. No thank you. Lots of other places offering free appraisals with great offers.

The most condescending people you will ever sit in a room with. First of all they had no show room and apparently that was dismantled a couple of years ago. Secondly I brought my mothers engagement ring, she was married in 1954 to my father who bought the ring and it has previously been appraised at $800-$1200. I included also another gift to me that was my aunts platinum 1930s deco style ring with a diamond in the center old mine cut 2/3 of a carrot, and some dental gold. The platinum ring has been appraised no less ever by anyone for about $15-$1800. She offered me $500 for the entire collection. I smell a rat. Never do business with these people!!! Incredibly insulting and clearly trying to hustle me. I probably would do better at a pawnshop even though I would never step in to such a business. What the actual business is going on here. sorry I interrupted their lunchtime. Maybe if they had had something to eat they wouldn’t have been so lightheaded with me. Once again I would never step foot in this business I don’t know how they got all those great reviews but I’m sure they’re nothing but friends who felt sorry and sent them a review.

Brought Rolexes in. Told them I would pay the jeweler to take off the clasp to get me the serial numbers. I said I was interested in what they would pay if I sold to them. They offered me less than half of what I could get wholesale. It’s obvious they try to pray on desperate people. Luckily I’m far from desperate. Im a business man & understand everyone needs to make a profit. But what they offered was borderline theft & unethical. I wouldn’t trust these people. I’m leaving this review the next day so they know exactly who I am also. I’d walk back into the store and tell them all to their faces.

To add to this review. I was offered 11k for the Daytona & was paid $18k by a different more trustworthy watch store. These people are scammers stay away.

You probably have fake comments below or you rip off old people that don’t know any better. You never referred me to bobs watches. Instead you offered me a theft price on them.

I’ve lived in Lake Forest my entire life. Jewelry Box has been in Lake Forest for as long as I remember. I first went in there when my daughter was a freshman at ETHS and I was in charge of the school calendar. The Jewelry Box always gives back to the community, always. I worked with them for a couple years and was always treated really great. I started going in there for my jewelry fixes when I needed them and again was always welcomed when I walked in and helped.
Today was a very special day as I was able to bless my mom with a small token from my heart. Every employee in there has an amazing heart. They really do want to help you find that perfect gift without trying to sell you their highest priced item. They rejoice with you or hear your sadness. I walked out of there with a big hug, smile and thankfulness.
