We've been lucky enough to partner with Mike and Amie from Summit Estates for almost a year to manage our short-term rental in Tahoe Vista, and they've been absolutely amazing! Our cabin is now in the top 1% of homes in terms of ratings, and that's largely thanks to their fantastic service.

Mike and Amie handle everything - from pre and post inspections to make sure the cabin is always in perfect shape, to scheduling and managing the cleaners. The cleaners they hire are the best we've ever had, and it's a huge relief not to worry about it.

They're super responsive and have jumped in right away for any urgent issues. Guests are always impressed with how quickly things get fixed. Mike is a very handy guy and has taken care of all sorts of things like clogged toilets, snow removal, broken doors, ants, garbage disposal problems, and more.

THE BEST!!! I truly cannot say enough about Summit Estates and it's owner Mike Villanova. I found this company on next-door during the heavy snow season of 2023.

Despite being overwhelmingly swamped, he came over
Within a few days with his team and not only cleared all the snow off our roof, but also broke up a bunch of ice blocks from our front door area, and driveway area.

Since then, he is my go to for literally everything.

They do property management, roof repairs, any type of handyman work you can think of, and problem-solving.

Mike works tirelessly until the problem is taken care of. He is extremely reliable and is always there when he says he will be there.

Even when things are out of his scope, he researched some pest control issues tirelessly and came up with some solutions for our Wasps and Flies, which we have been battling for four years.

Every time he does a job, he takes pictures, which is extremely helpful. I've had bad experiences in Tahoe with other contractors. Who either do shoddy work, or come and say they've done work when they don't since I am not there to monitor things because it's my second home.

But you know it's done and you know it's done right with Mike.

I can't speak highly enough about him and his company.

We had an urgent situation with our chimney and wasps, and when everyone else said they couldn't help us because it was on the roof (even the 25 Pest Control companies I called), he came out and took care of the problem.

I remember the reason I hired him the very first time to clear the snow from my roof... I was reading peoples horror stories about their roof collapsing and about them not being able to get out of their front door due to snow piles and I remember a bunch of posts from Mike saying he'd be right over to help.

Right away I thought this guy must be amazing , because of how helpful he was to the people stuck in Tahoe. And now I know that those posts were 100% accurate.

Summer 2023… there were some changes happening around the lake here on the north shore when the Hyatt made the decision to eliminate the buoy service at the Hyatt pier. I was fortunate to be offered a buoy which I am extremely thankful for but I will admit, I was spoiled by the concierge/delivery type service that the crew at the Hyatt pier offered.

As everyone who was a customer at the Hyatt buoy field was pivoting and trying figure out the logistics of their summer boating season here on the north shore when it came to an un-cover, wipe down, drop off, pick up, hook back up to the buoy and re-cover service including myself, I was referred to Mike by a very good friend who has been a local here for approximately 25 years. He said “call Mike Villanova, he runs a very professional boat concierge/valet service.” I gave Mike a call, explained my situation and Mike said “I got you!”. As a 10 year customer of North Tahoe Marina, I asked the staff there as well if they knew Mike and they also gave him high praise so I had even more confidence with my decision to work with Mike.

Now here we are a few months into summer and my experience with Mike has been exceptional! Mike is professional, punctual, responsive, and he always has a smile on his face. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever had an interaction with Mike where he wasn’t smiling. I can tell Mike lives his life with a sense of gratitude which is very refreshing. As a business owner myself, I want to do business with people like this. He is a family man who loves Tahoe. His rates are fair and I am grateful to have found him.

On another note, I just discovered that during the winter, Mike runs a snow removal business and if he runs it like his boat concierge/valet business, which I have no doubt he does, he has a new customer for the winter!

Normally one would encourage support of local businesses. Not in the case of this company. The owner posts on social media about treating immigrants differently than others (his references to 1JS immigrants), anti-vaxing (twitter), how terrible he thinks the area is (Nextdoor) and other hateful and divisive postings. Go to Local Vacation Rentals and Tahoe Rental Management instead if you would rather support supportive and friendly locals.

I interacted with the owner of this company online in 2023 and he called me and other people names and told me I should not live in Tahoe. You can see by his responses to any type of negative review that the owner is very angry and full of hate. Being an immigrant, I take personal his online attacks against people that are trying to make a living.

Michael Villanova, owner, went out of his way to stop and help me for over two hours when my car was stuck during a snowstorm. Although difficult to get the car out he insisted on finishing the job. Never gave up. A true local helping a neighbor.
