Homes r cosmetically beautiful only. Very poor quality and cheap materials used. The price point of these houses are way too high to have cheap floors and fixtures. I've seen low income homes with much nicer flooring than my "luxury vinyl" that's lifting and buckling at every corner. I've had water spots in my guest room ceiling since I purchased. Most of my doors are off track. I could go on forever. This is my second home I've purchased and the buying process and home itself is horrible with Dr. Horton

Closing date moved multiple times causing me to repeatedly re-sign the contract with the new dates, move my days off work and reschedule movers, fence builder, etc. DHI mortgage also had to redo paperwork/credit checks bcause of timeframe.

I eventually cancelled the contract and received documentation my earnest money would be returned within 90 days. That did not happen.

I reached out to Sean (my sales agent) 180 days later asking for contact information/help with this, and received no response.
A few more weeks passed so I contacted HR Horton through the website, and again-- no response...

Obviously I'm not getting my earnest money back. Ridiculous is putting it nicely.

Update: After posting this review, a check for the amount of my earnest money mysteriously arrived...all these months and attempts later. Was happy to receive the money back, regardless.

Very disappointed. Neighbors don't take care of their property, and we have to continuously look at it... Debris and trash that ends up in our yard, we take care of and throw it away. Too bad. A pickup truck has been parked in the backyard going on 5,6 days or more. In... the.. yard. When I open the blinds in our master bedroom to let the sunshine in, that's the first thing I see.... pickup truck, chopped wood and wood debris that's been there since February, and other miscellaneous items. So, no, if nobody else cares, I guess I won't either. Disappointed.... very disappointed.

I love my house but absolutely hate the yard. I bought new three years ago and had concerns about standing water due to the hill on our street but was assured it wouldn’t be a problem because there were french drains installed...wrong. For three years I have had to deal with the spring/fall swamp. Would love to know who the landscape designer was and who made the poor attempt at french drains that have never worked.

I wouldn't have D.R. Horton build me a dog house. This is got to be the worst home builder around, they built homes in churchhill subdivision, the home I lived in had so many flaws in it its ridiculous. You try to call them to come fix it they don't want too, want you to pay more money. Had warranty on home and they didn't want to honor it, worst, not any good at building homes. Not worth a penny to buy. DR Horton needs to lose the business license they have because the company is sorry an not good for anything. Wouldn't recommend this business to anyone to even build a simple dog house. It would fall in before the dog used it. Then your dog would be mad at you. LOL
