Horrible at communicating. Property on 1400 ave is filled with spiders. My first 3 months at the property were hell I had maintenance people coming in and out of my unit. After that the problems and bugs made the unit not even worth the affordable price. Management is very rude and condescending both in person and over the phone. I wouldn't recommend as a good property management company. Seems the owner is nicer than the actual management. My move out process had been shitty despite me getting a bunch of people to apply who could move in immediately, they somehow just happened to choose the ONE applicant who could move in middle of next month leaving me to have to pay for half that month despite having moved out early in September to avoid doing just that and have a tenent move in October 1.
Anyways would not recommend get an actual apartment with amenities and employees that actually understand that they work in CUSTOMER SERVICE and should talk to people as such. Renting is a scary and confusing process having a Manager like Brianna talk to me with an attitude and tone that is very dismissive of my questions isn’t helpful.

I can honestly say, that I can’t believe I’m leaving a review.

However, Stix & Stones has offered the worst renting experience I’ve ever had due to one simple and persistent issue.

Brianna used to operate the phones. Now Brianna is a manager. Back then when Brianna did the phones, we had to call SEVERAL times and leave voicemails just to even look at the apartment. Of course none of those voicemails were returned and we had to essentially harass them to get an answer. It was like they didn’t want to show the place (which was up for a long time). We should have seen that red flag on day 1.

If you call for maintenance, It’s YOUR problem as the tenant. YOU call the plumber/electrician/handyman. If your property has propane, YOU manage the level and calling and billing. As if you’re some kind of implied secretary or employee.

We once received an email from Brianna asking us to forward them internet options which would pertain to neighboring tenants. Which I’d consider logistics, labor, or research and development. None of which I’m paid to do.

Nicki (sp? sorry) is awesome. So I will say it was nice to have a person answer first go around. She actually does her job, like the rest of the crew. However, it’s the quality of the weakest link, not the entire chain.

As a tenant, this wasn’t the best experience. The best parts were the inspections and calling to straighten out a billing issue in which we were charged rent we did not owe, which is “my fault”

This is bar none the worst company I've rented from in 20 years. If ever we needed to get in touch with them it was like pulling teeth. They would never answer the phone and it took days to get a response. I would just think twice about having them a your landlord if communication is going to be important for you.

I have been renting from Stix & Stones and have been impressed with the level of service from our Property Manager, Michelle, and her colleagues. All issues have been addressed promptly with Michelle taking extra care to make sure we are safe and comfortable. She offers help everywhere she can and genuinely cares about her tenants. I am glad to have found such a great company to rent from.

My wife and I have been using Stix & Stones for just over a year and half now. Lance and his staff are top notch; watching over our property with a keen eye. They are quick to let us know about any issues that arise and often take care of smaller ones on their own. We have never had a problem finding tenants or getting asking rent. If your looking for personalized service and many years of experience managing rental properties Stix & Stones are a great outfit.
As long as we keep this rental property we will have Lance and his crew manage it, thx!

Lance really cares about his tenants, that's all I can attest to as I'm not an owner. When problems did arise, as they are wont to do, his team jumped to make it right. I lived in a unit of theirs for 18 months and only left due to reasons beyond their control. I'd rent with them again in a heartbeat. They have the online portal where you can present maintenance issues and pay rent and you'll get a call on the maintenance issue that day, even on weekends. They have a text line that they will always get back to you on if they can't call you. They really are great people to work with. Michelle and Brianna are super professional and pleasant to chat with, as well. If Stix and Stones is the management company you'll be taken care of, there's no doubt. Good luck!
