Since I wasn’t allowed to respond to the owner-Disgusted. Wish I could give negative stars. The owner is terrible and has no customer service skills
The boat was in terrible condition. We’ve owned boats for 25 years and the front kept sinking, My husband is also in the coast guard. The owner told us we don’t know how to drive. We had 2 children who were frightened to be in it.
We docked off the sandbar and then told there was no ladder because swimming is not allowed.
We returned the boat after an hour and the owner told us too bad and it’s user issues.
Disgusted. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the $400 (cash only-how shady)

Just to clarify-we honored the cash only because we endorse small business and want to make sure the money is going back to the business and not the 3rd party credit card mongols. When we got back, there were no boats to even off another boat. The owner sat there and rolled his eyes at my mother
We didn’t use our own boat bc we are on a family vacation.
We came in hoping to clarify however since you clearly couldn’t be bothered, writing a review seemed like the only optio.

We rented jet skis today. Had the best time! The skis were clean and in great condition. The owner Chris was awesome! The instructor Alex was patient and made sure we were having a great experience! We can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend Starky’s!

Great experience here renting wave runners on a week day morning! We arrived and they were about to take someone else out, so waited a few minutes to add my son and I to the group. The wave runners were well maintained, FAST and FUN! They guide you out past the no wake zone and you have a large rectangular area in which to have fun - between the channel for boats and the shore. That is nice, because you have a clear separation between you and boat traffic, which makes things very safe. We did the hour long rental and enjoyed every minute, from zooming around at top speed to zig-zagging and taking fast turns. All of the staff we interacted with were super nice. I look forward to returning again next summer!

This was a great experience. It had been some time since I had been on a wave runner, but Brandon, Joe, and the team at Starkys’s did an excellent job making sure that we had a good understanding before going out, along with guided instruction while we were out there. The parking was easy, the cost was reasonable, and I look forward to doing it again. I highly recommend this and a good tip is to do it earlier in the morning when the bay is calm.

We had the best time today when we rented wave-runners. We had to wait for the other riders to come back and got to speak with the owner and the other staff members. (And pet the best boat dog ever!)

The entire staff was so awesome, instructed us well, and we had the best experience! I highly recommend renting from Starky’s and we plan on going back before we leave!!!

We had a great experience here! Went around 12 on a week day and my mom and I rented a double kayak. Everyone was super helpful and friendly. We even got to pet the dog who was hanging in the office. Definitely recommend!

On our latest trip to LBI we wanted to take a boat out on the bay for fishing for the first time. We had 10 people- kids from 5-15 and adults. Three places were recommended but Starky’s was the only place that was affordable and we were able to fish and crab off the boat so we gave them a shot. It was by far our favorite memory on this year’s trip! We didn’t think we’d use the whole 4 hour rental but surprised ourselves by staying out the entire time. Boat was clean, in working order, and the staff was friendly and helpful with our novice captains. Thanks for the memories Starky’s, we’ll be back!
