Visiting the mountain viewpoint was an absolutely breathtaking experience. The scenery from the top was simply stunning, with panoramic views of lush green valleys, majestic peaks, and a clear blue sky stretching as far as the eye could see. The peaceful atmosphere and serene beauty of nature truly made this spot a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

What made the experience even more magical was the presence of the beautiful horses. These majestic creatures added an extra touch of charm to the already picturesque setting. Watching them graze peacefully against the backdrop of the mountains was a sight to behold, making the visit even more memorable.

Overall, the mountain viewpoint was not just a place to admire nature's beauty but also an opportunity to connect with these magnificent animals. Whether you're a nature lover, a photography enthusiast, or simply seeking some tranquility, this spot offers an unforgettable experience that will leave you in awe. I highly recommend visiting this gem of a location, where the stunning views and the presence of horses create a truly unforgettable experience.

We started watching sunsets here in 1983, now we have to do sunrises because the park closes at 7 p.m. We were 6th in line at 5 a.m. to enter the park with alot of hikers and bicyclists. Stunning views, very peaceful, and free admission.

This park very much serves the purpose of leisure. While there are some unique micro/macro-hiking opportunities, do not expect anything above that. So long as you have your priorities straight this will please. Do keep in mind some trails are steep and narrow alongside being quite lengthy. Not reccomended for those who may struggle physically under mildly-adverse conditions. Park is clean and well maintained but could benefit from some accessibility improvements.

We walked the Judith Tunell Loop, which was paved. That was the easiest trail to find. I wish they had better directions to the different trails and staff on hand to assist. We were left to figure it out. The trail was quiet and clean. I was looking for a better experience here. I would not visit again or recommend it, unless you have someone familiar with the park and can assist you.

We stopped at this nature preserve to take a picture of a saguaro cactus as we had read it was a great place to get photos of the saguaro. We tried to park up the hill closer to the paved path for guests but were turned away due to staff resurfacing the parking lot. We pulled onto the shoulder of the road as close to the path as possible and within less than ten minutes the park ranger wrote us a $100 ticket! No signs were posted anywhere saying “no parking” but we were expected to know this somehow! Beware of the unchecked authority these officers that run this park brandish on the unsuspecting visitors to the park. We were told we “should have known you can’t park on the shoulder of the road by the officer who answered the door. Most expensive thing we did while here on vacation. The Grand Canyon doesn’t even give out $100 tickets for parking on the shoulder of the road. Don’t stop here or you will be sorry I’m one of at or another. We should have read the horrible reviews other have posted. Turn around and save yourself some money!

I love this specific park. It has a few different trails. The one I hike I wouldn’t necessarily say is good for bike riding because of all of the rocks but it is a nice place for an early morning hike while the air is still fresh. It is a pretty steep hike, but I love it. I’m not sure of the surrounding trails because I haven’t hiked them.. There’s quite a few people that hike this trail and area most of the time, so it’s not exactly lonely.. but I would recommend going with at least one friend because it does extend pretty far away from help if you needed it. If you had to scream even other hikers may not even hear you depending on the distance you were apart. Make sure to take plenty of water because the heat warms it up pretty quickly. I would recommend a thermos cup and a light backpack to carry your important items. The view is gorgeous and it’s so serene and peaceful on the trail and once you reach the top. Enjoy.
