The leasing agent was very professional and kind. Very understanding of my delicate situation. The apartment complex was clean. And the apartments were a great size for the price.

We’ve had nonstop issues since moving into this apartment. It started with a flood on day one, while we were still unpacking, followed by discovering mold under our kitchen cabinets and a sewer roach infestation. The carpet, which should have been replaced before we moved in, was old, matted, and loose, creating dangerous hills in the floor. The flooring was eventually replaced, but even then, they had to redo it three times because it buckled and didn’t match.

Our air conditioning broke during the summer, and it took over a week to provide us with even a temporary portable unit. The floors buckled from the initial flood and weren’t addressed for eight months.
Once the flooring was finally ripped up they preformed a mold test which we were never allowed to see results of. We've been relocated multiple times for repairs, often left stranded without clear communication or support.

We’ve had to leave our home over a dozen times for pest treatments, even after being told chemical treatments weren't allowed anymore. Management called in another company instead, with little regard for our well-being. Then, a leaky door caused water damage, drenching the carpet and eventually causing the door to mold due to high moisture. They didn’t relocate us and left us with mold for over 2 weeks. They refused to test the mold, but we did and have results from the lab. Instead of removing the door they did a quarantined cleaning that left our bedroom with a EXTREMELY strong chemical smell. I couldn’t put my baby to sleep and we had nowhere else to go. We were forced to take our mattress out to the living room and sleep with all the doors and windows open. This issue with the door has been ongoing for eight months and still hasn’t been resolved. The door cannot pass a water test and our carpet now smells sour from the constant moisture/ humidity in the room.

It feels like we've spent more time out of our home than in it, with constant vendors in and out. We have a two-year-old, and we’ve had to repeatedly disrupt his routine to accommodate management’s schedule, all while exposing him to numerous chemicals and toxic mold.

In the year and a half we’ve lived here, management has changed multiple times, and with each change, we have to start over, with no one taking us seriously. We've been promised compensation for the time off work, money spent, and the countless days we’ve had to leave our home, but nothing has come through. Also, they took our rent check and paid someone else’s rent with it and then slapped a 3 day notice on our door without even attempting to speak to us.

On top of all that, we now have a neighbor who harasses us almost daily. One incident escalated when he banged and kicked on our door and refused to leave, forcing us to call the police. We were told after the severity of that situation he would be moved if necessary. Since then, it's been a constant battle with this mentally unstable man. For our safety and because of the unresolved issues, we’re now having to relocate. Despite everything we've been through, they're trying to charge us over $4,000 for the floors, and we’re still waiting on the compensation we were promised.

I've lived here for 3+ years. Property Management is responsive to Maintenance Requests, but seems to lack sufficient budget to proactively address issues, especially in the Common Areas throughout. Building is 15 years old, so issues are to be expected, such as frequent water shut-offs for needed pipe repairs.

The lobby has had a 3' x 5' hole in the ceiling, which happened about a year ago, and is covered in plastic. Issue seems to be with structural expansion joint on floor above. But regardless, the rainy season is several weeks away, and a water leak in the lobby with a garbage can to catch the water is not a good look - especially a year after the fact - and when trying to attract new tenants.

Hallway lights are not all working, and some of the exterior lights around the perimeter are out, which is a potential safety concern. Stairwell carpets are worn and dirty, and many of the Apartment carpets are stained, which initially come-out when cleaned - and soon return several days later. Should have been replaced before I moved-in, but didn't notice the difference until afterwards.

Security is also a concern, with many of the exterior doors not automatically closing and/or locking. Key fob locks are all original, are now 15 years old, and are difficult to find parts for repair. Not sure on the availability, but seems like replacing the locks would be the better option.

Overall, the Property Managers (Crystal and Shenick - prior) do a great job, and the Maintenance Supervisor (Eddie) is always on top of it. I highly recommend for prospective Residents. But do wish that Ownership would allocate more funding for both Repairs and ongoing Maintenance.

And now that Managers are not pulling double-duty, while trying to support two different properties simultaneously, hopefully many of these issues will be resolved in the near future.

It took a while for the work order to get done because they had to order for the new appliances to replace our washer and dryer. We had an issue with our dryer that was causing the loud noise. They are very professional and always at their best to get our requests resolved at utmost care. If we have an urgent issue, they will always do their best to assist us.

The work from Erick was Excellent, but the response takes too long. From the moment I placed the call to the moments he showed up to do it the job, it was 6 weeks. He is the only person fix everything in the building.

I recently toured Sofi Topanga Canyon Apartments, and I have to say, it was a great experience! Amber was my guide, and she was an absolute delight. She provided insightful information about the property and the surrounding communities, making the tour informative and enjoyable. During the tour, Crystal also joined us briefly to check in and ensure everything was going smoothly. Both of these ladies were incredibly helpful and made the experience even better. I just want to say, wow! What a lovely property, and thank you, Amber and Crystal, for your exceptional assistance.

The building has completely gone down hill. We’ve had both elevators broken (took months to repair), elevator half fixed so it’s a death trap rocking and dropping when in use, holes in the ceiling in the lobby, security gates are all broken so anyone can access and can’t get out in an emergency.
The 10 months we’ve lived here has been terrible! We’ve had endless issues since day one! On move-in, while unloading we came in to turn on the AC on and within 30 minutes our entire bathroom had 2 inches of water because the AC broke and flooded the bathroom. Then we noticed some discoloration possible black mold in the kitchen, and when we voiced concern maintenance was sent up to paint and cover it up. Almost 4 months later after getting regional manger involved a supposed mold inspector came, but all they did was use a device to check thermal and moisture, but didn’t open anything up and test for actual spores. We were also told before moving in that our carpet would be replaced and it was not. When we got in it was dirty, matted down in spots, and in terrible condition not to mention, there were huge hills that we were tripping on of loose carpet. Their solution was to come cut the carpet and re-pin it down to tighten it. Within two weeks of being here we have an infestation of sewer cockroaches and silverfish bugs. It’s on going and even with three professional pest control companies coming out and telling them it’s a structural issue and that there’s nothing more they could do and that it’s a health concern for us to keep having Poison sprayed. We’ve had pest control out over ten times. They have them do these extensive treatments where we have to unpack our entire kitchen and bathroom, which is in total of three day process over and over again of unpacking having to be out of our house for hours at a time and then coming in and re-packing so that we could function in our home. They are still insisting on having more treatments done. We’ve started waking up with bloody noses and sore throats on a daily basis. We have a one-year-old baby who we’ve woken up to holding a cockroach in his hand. For three months little to nothing was done as there is a new manager Rikko who does absolutely nothing except argue, and tell you the same thing over and over just in different ways. He doesn’t answer the phone and I physically have to go down to the office where he has his feet kicked up on his desk doing nothing. We’ve gotten into an argument over the concerns of the pests and them not taking it seriously. He’ll put out the Clock saying that he’ll be back in the office soon so that he doesn’t have to deal with residence. I’ve been outside of the office watching him calling and calling and he just watches the phones with his feet up on the desk laying in his chair and stays in his back office unless the female leasing agent is in the office then he’s outside of his office talking to her. Every resident that we become acquainted with has something negative to say about him and how he handles situations. Absolutely nothing started to get done until I start emailing to document everything and Oscar he rm got involved and wanted to actually offer solutions, but I’ve had little to no contact since our initial conversation. Our air conditioner completely took a dump on us and maintenance was again sent up and told us that if he didn’t see the issue and that a vendor couldn’t be called out. We were left without AC for over a week before being offered a portable in the dead of summer. They finally took us serious after pestering and replaced our AC unit once a vendor came out. We’re still living in uninhabitable infested conditions and things are just being brushed under the rug continuously. No one is taking it serious and I have to stay on top of each and every person to get answers or anything. We were put out for several days 7 months after the flood from our move in day to have flood damage removed and replaced in the restroom. We still have bugs. We have to seek legal action to even get a response to emails
