STAY AWAY - I really wanted to like this place. Larkspur is a beautiful town with great hiking trails close by. The major issue overall was our move-out experience. We only lived in the unit for 11 months, barely caused any damages and the place was pretty much in exact condition from when we moved in (white paint sprayed everywhere, even on the tile, baseboard etc.)

After moving out, we got hit with a bill of $400 and no security deposit back. The main red flag was most of this bill was toward freshly painting the whole unit again which seemed absurd and unneeded. You would think this all would be normal wear n tear type stuff if there was spot painting to be done but we were stuck with the bill without any warning/explanation.

After finally getting Mike on the phone, they were unable to provide us any before/after images, no proof of invoice or even a reason why they felt the need to do a full unit painting job.

We had several conversations with Mike regarding this billing issue, and he assured us that he would provide more details and remove the charge from our record. Despite our in-person visits and calls almost every other week, we saw little progress. Then, after finally receiving confirmation that the charge had been removed, we were surprised to receive notice that the bill had been sent to collections.

This situation has all been very disappointing and has left us concerned about the accountability of this organization. Seems like a shady property and highly recommend to stay away

Channel at the leasing office was super nice! She makes you excited to live in those apartments and she makes you feel like she really cares about your needs. Our experience touring the place easily puts it at the top of our list of apartments to move in to!

From the very beginning, Chanel made the entire move-in process absolutely seamless—she was professional, attentive, and genuinely fabulous! Mike has also been fantastic, always ready to help with any questions or concerns.

The staff here is incredibly responsive and friendly, which really sets the tone for the community. On top of that, the apartment itself was in immaculate condition when I moved in—clean, modern, and exactly as described.

It’s clear that everyone here takes pride in making this a great place to live. I highly recommend Skylark Apartments to anyone looking for a beautiful home (with a gorgeous view of Mt. Tam🙏) and outstanding service!

Don’t do it.
Nosey creepy gossipy neighbors, thin ceiling and floor so everyone hears every word sneeze cough, and some neighbors drive away new tenants to keep units around them empty. something’s always broken routinely, paint peels off the walls during a shower, constant plumbing issues. Maintenance enters without permission at anytime, they do not wait for you to answer the door or schedule a time that works for you. They came in when we were sitting down to eat, have guests over, in the middle of important meetings or projects, asleep, or even in the middle of getting dressed and not fully clothed yet. They just come in and start working on things.

We had the pleasure of being shown around Skylark Apartment Complex by Chanel, and her assistance made all the difference in our experience. From the moment we met her, she was incredibly warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable about every aspect of the property. Chanel took the time to address all of our questions and made sure we felt comfortable throughout the tour.

Her attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile to make sure we understood all the features and amenities of Skylark. Chanel’s professionalism and enthusiasm made a huge impression on us, and she definitely helped us feel confident about our decision to consider Skylark as our new home.

SKYLARK Apartments is the best place to live in Marin County. It is like a slice of heaven here. The leasing staff is the BEST!! Channel is so friendly and kind, she is so nice to everyone and very helpful. Mike is so kind and makes sure everything is running great. And the maintenance people do the best job, Chris, Tim, Gio and Angel are the ones that keep the tenants happy with maintaining the units, always with a smile

Staff are great!... but
So much work keeping them on their stuff. So many little things missing when we moved in, and that's just the start.
The entire complex just got sold to a huge corporation a couple years ago and are they are NOW making necessary structural changes and updates. These updates are poor; making a cheap apartment seem like a great upgrade. "New" floors started peeling < 1 year after installation and utilities such as water, washer/dryer, and others are constantly being fixed or flat out broken. Lots of construction all the time. parking sucks, especially if you're having anyone other than yourself there.
