We live in Tempe, Arizona and had made the decision to relocate to northern California. More specifically, we had narrowed our choice of locations to Santa Rosa and Sacramento. The first task was to find a realtor that we could work with and trust to be our long-distance eyes and ears. We were starting from scratch, with no idea of how to find a quality person. Let’s not bury the lead, we got extremely lucky when we found Simon Raya. We were first introduced to Simon by a thorough online search. After a lot of deliberation, we narrowed our choices to 4 realtors. Then came the task of interviewing each of them by phone. They were all very professional and had a lot of experience, but in the end, one guy stood out: Simon. He was very professional, and certainly had a lot of experience, but what stood out was his warmth and his personality. He came across as a real person, someone that you would like to have for a friend; someone that genuinely cared about his clients. We were vacationing in the area, so we decided to meet him. He gave freely of his time, even though we told him that we wouldn’t be moving for at least a year. He gave us a grand tour of the Santa Rosa area and took us to representative properties that were for sale. In short, he was everything that we had hoped he would be.
As the months went by, he kept in touch and kept us abreast of the market. He sent us news on new listings in the area. He didn’t forget about us. When we told him that we had some significant interest in a property, he would immediately go and inspect it for us on our behalf. And if it looked promising, he made high quality narrated videos for us, so that we could really get the feel of the place. He never balked on giving us his time nor his attention. In time we found a couple of properties that we wanted to move on. Unfortunately, the bidding was quite intense and we decided not to chase either one. However, in the process, his advice and negotiating skills were invaluable.

Some time passed, and we decided to pivot from Santa Rosa and to concentrate more on Sacramento. He encouraged us to follow our hearts. As it turns out, although Simon is based in Santa Rosa, he was quite familiar with Sacramento. We asked him if he could continue to represent us in the Sacramento market. In spite of the significant travel time, he agreed.

We found our dream home in the Sacramento suburb of Folsom and Simon helped make it a reality. He looked after every detail until the property was ours. He proved to us that he was indeed an expert in all aspects involved in the negotiation and purchase of a high-end property. He secured us a great deal and, in the end, we came away making a new friend. He not only made relocation from Arizona to California possible, he made it a positive and memorable experience.
