My family and I just recently returned from a fantastic 5 day getaway to Seashell Resort in Beach Haven, NJ. All I can say is WOW! This place is amazing! From the cleanliness of the rooms to the top notch service the employees are all very professional and take great pride in this establishment. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. The rooms are kept immaculate. Housekeeping cleaned the ENTIRE room every day! The food at the outdoor patio and indoor restaurant was delicious! The location is super convenient as it is right on the beach. The vibe out on the pool patio is fun for everyone! I would highly recommend this place and look forward to returning next summer!

I suppose we should have dined in the indoor restaurant, but if the food there is as bad as this outdoor grill I won’t make the mistake twice. It’s more of a half dressed noisy pool/seaside bar and grill. There was a fat shitless guy guzzling beer while standing nextvto a dining table. If you’re more into a large derrière show at the bar instead of decent bar food you just might like this noisy (from the adjacent family hotel pool) place! I expected a little more upscale (and Im not a snob).|THE FOOD! My crab cake sliders were more luke old fashioned FISH CAKES. I thought the sliders were a smaller portion of their crab cake entree. If so avoid both! The chicken Caesar wrap contaed very little chicken and the beef tacos had a scoop of ground beef cooked in over seasoned taco mix. We definitely wont be returning. It seems tey are taking advantage of prime beach area to serve up poor quality food.

Beware of fees when booking a room. I cancelled my room 30 days in advance due to a work obligation and they kept over $100 of my money and refused to refund me. I will never book at this hotel again! They basically stole my money for a service they never provided me.

The bar service down by the pool was absolutely horrible today (8/6/24). My family has been coming to LBI for 15 years (1 year off for covid) and the Sea Shell has always been a destination for good drinks and food by the pool with live music. Today we went there for the first time this week excited as usual, but there was an issue with the ID reader that resulted in our kids (ages 22 and 24) having to wait for the police because the bartender accused them of using fake IDs. Apparently there is a bias against CT IDs that immediately flags the system at the Sea Shell. This has been the only place in LBI that has had an issue with their IDs this week. I understand there is a protocol they need to follow for liability,, but we were basically trapped there for 30 minutes until the police arrived to get their IDs back. The bartender didn’t seem to care and when my kids went out front to meet the police to expedite the process, he commented “when they leave like that it confirms their IDs are fake”. The police obviously confirmed their ages and cleared them. The bartender didn’t apologize for the inconvenience nor did he even offer the rest of us anything to drink while we waited. He seemed to not want any of us there. The experience was so distasteful that we will never go to the Sea Shell ever again. We may not be regulars but we do ring up a nice tab every time we are there. I am truly saddened by the way this was handled. They need to get their system straight, and train their staff better on customer service.

So I just visited the seashell today Aug 12,24 with my family of 12. They spent over 2000.00 for the hotel stay along with over 600.00 in liquor/food bills. We ordered 3 rum teasers this afternoon. They were watered down. I politely brought one back and complained to the 2 bar tenders that work at the bar closest to the beach. He gave me every excuse not to remake the drink. He said he poured it a while ago , the ice melted , ect. Every bar I have ever worked at has either remade the drink or offered something else. Instead I was treated like a thief and that I had the nerve to ask them to remake it. What an insult after the money we spent here. When you’re charging prices like they do the drinks should be top notch. For the record , we had no issues with the quality of the drinks at the other bar (located close to restrooms). Also beware of staying here . The rooms are moldy and if you have breathing/ health issues I’d certainly reconsider staying here. Lastly the ladies room had no toilet paper in one of the stalls . I had to go in the closet and replace it myself. There are other options to stay and certainly better bars that care about customer service!

This place is great. We went in the off season and loved it. A great vacation is to go there in September-October ... Still good weather, quiet but not dead. Super fun.

Avoid Staying Here**

During our recent stay we encountered several issues that made our experience very disappointing.

Firstly, our room was in terrible condition. There was visible mold on the walls and ceiling, which is not only unpleasant but also a health hazard. The window shades were broken, providing little to no privacy and making it difficult to sleep past sunrise. Additionally, the air conditioning was not functioning, making the room uncomfortably hot, especially during the warm nights.

Moreover, we encountered a confusing and seemingly unfair policy regarding the length of stay. We were informed that we had to stay for a minimum of three nights, whereas our friends, who booked separately, were only required to stay for two nights. This discrepancy felt arbitrary and unjustified.

Given these issues, I would strongly advise against staying at. There are plenty of other hotels in the area that offer better conditions and more consistent policies. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

Motel with motel parking is such a rip off. Rooms have small windows and are like being in a basement. Decor is dark and bachelor pad style. Biggest complaints of all: People sit outside rooms and talk till midnight and management does nothing, room floor was filthy with chunks of dirt, not just sand... Beyond that: pool has such a small area around it (it's like a ridge - no way a pool company designed that!) that I was happy my kids are full grown for fear that they would fall into a mostly deep pool. The shallow section is no bigger than a kiddie pool and it was filled with sand and cold (no way it's 80 something like they state on hear in just one of their very defensive comments (so many; so much for the customer is always right). The outdoor bar area looks like someone's backyard and the private beach is the part by the sand dunes, you know the desert area that no one sits in! Lobby is dark and smells like a keg party. AC units are super loud window units for which they dictate the temp for fear of mold. If you like feeling like you are visiting someone's house with a weird backyard and basement room, then this is for you! Skip this and get a room in a real resort in Hawaii (really, it's the same price) with real palm trees!
