Unfortunately stayed here for 2 years in a second level unit. Thankfully my boyfriend and I found a beautiful place for same money, much better staff. ☺️

Besides kids digging in the yard creating holes in the summers, it is chaos in the summer, they bang on my front door while they play, they leave toys and bikes, broken water balloon rubber all over the property. There are many parks that are walking distance but parents don’t care. there’s graffiti on the mail boxes, most of the laundry machines don’t work. Staff is always making simple questions into 20 emails back and forth. They state no commercial vehicles can park in the lot they allow some commercial vehicles to park? The staff (Maureen, Jonathon and Rose and the 1 maintence guy) all seem like they hate their job. Don’t give these jokers your money or time. I lived on the second floor and the infestation of roaches were disgusting I had to call for the exterminator and I still saw them for a while. My unit also had an old fridge which was on its way out, oven (had to be replaced twice) and a dishwasher that was put in wrong and my kitchen became flooded so they had to come back to fix their work. Appliances are outdated and not efficient. Even if they update the appliances, the price for the unit environment will not be worth it. Walls are thin you can hear your neighbors, or kids running around, screaming on the 1st floor. You can hear the cars driving passed the complex on the main road from your bedroom window even when it’s closed! Maintence doesn’t work with the working tenets, they won’t come after 5. You will need to call out/work from home for them to take most of the day to do 1 thing. Oh and the water is so hard, constantly my hair would fall out or get super dry and I ended up having to see a dermatologist to help with my skin and hair. Had to buy myself a water softener for the shower head which thankfully helped. Also bought myself a new toilet seat since the one they supplied had marks on it and was clearly at least 5 years old. Unit didn’t come with a shower rod, had to ask them to get that when I first moved in. Tiles in kitchen also had holes/marks on it from previous tenants, they are beige multi colored so cleaning makes it hard. I urge you to look some where else!

The apartments are infested with roaches that they cannot get rid of, need I say more?

Other fun details if you really want:
- Dumpster is a good walk away from most apartments, terrible when it's cold out. Also very messy.
- Laundry is as well, and the laundry room isn't great. Many of the machines have issues constantly.
- You can't control the heat yourself, and there's no A/C in the bedroom.
- Blinds are terrible, enjoy having the sun in your eyes constantly.
- Walls are thin, and there's often people playing extremely loud music outside. I don't even think they're residents.
- Rent increased almost $100 after just one year, though I was planning to leave regardless.
- Having renter insurance is required? Why?
- No microwave

To be fair, here's the pros:
- Never had problems finding parking in the outside lot. But if you want a garage space, give up. Good luck in winter, they're not good at snow removal.
- Management isn't too bad, considering. Though they seem understaffed.
- Apartment was decently spacious.
- Other tenants never caused me issues.

You can 100% find better for this price in the area, don't live here.

Rutherford heights is a quiet and safe community which i love, but the maintenance team needs a lot of improvement. Especially when it comes to the shared laundry room. If there are issues in the laundry room i feel as if that’s something that should be dealt with right away! There are always washers not working. The only way you pay to do your laundry is through a card and the card reload machine has lots of issues. i went to go reload my card with cash and now my card is stuck in the machine and I cannot get my laundry done. Doing laundry shouldn’t be this difficult. The washers and dryers have the option to be connected to an app where the resident can pay online and I really think that should be something incorporated.
The maintenance team also needs better communication. If they are coming to fix something in a unit they should send an email letting the resident know if the issue has been resolved or if they have to come back to finish up something.
I hope there are some improvements made because I would really like to renew my lease when the time comes.

It will be 3 years in July living here & I have really enjoyed living here . However, at least 4 months ago the water temperature in my shower has been very inconsistent. I have had maintenance here and also called several times because water temperature is not good. Taking a cold shower at night and especially in thr morning is not fun.

I have been staying in Rutherford Heights from last 2 years with my family and this is my 3rd year here. It has enough parking spaces, has good connectivity to NYC, grocery stores, parks, and schools. The entire process of move-in and staying here is so smooth and gives a pleasant experience to the entire family. I would like to specially mention the names of few people who have made this experience better. JOHANNA at the leasing office and Head Supervisor CARLOS are always kind and helpful and give a quick response to all the queries. There has been a concern of mice in the previous apartment in Rutherford heights but we took some measures to remove them and also got some help from the maintenance office and the problem does not exist in the new apartment that we moved-in recently. Otherwise, the heat, snow removal, routine issues are being taken care of with excellent team work here. The turn around time of any complaints is not too much and is within the expected timelines. Just few things are missing like children's playing areas, gym, pool etc but daily routine stuff is great here and is an amazing place to stay. I also with there could be few more laundry machines for the large amount of people staying here. The rents are also little too high considering the nearby apartments but this is mainly due to the proximity to NY I suppose. I expect and hope to have the same pleasant experience in the times to come and wish them all the very best and happy new year. Cheers!!!

So I came here on 2020 and I am hitting year number 4 in this place. I give the place a 5 stars however I have some notes to share:

1. The laundary room here is a disaster . They recently change machines so I gave it a last try and it is still sucks. washers don't clean and dryers don't dry.

2. I had a rough patch with the super initially but I gave him some slack, the guy does a lot afer all but he needs to work on his attitude.

finally ever since I came here I wanted to rent a storage space, I have been told that there is a waiting list and i am currently number 11. Several years came by and i am still on the waiting list, but I am number 13 now LOL. I would defenitly appiciate a garage space Management.

finally, I don't think this is a bad place. I recommend this place to anyone

The place is good to live except for the terrible maintenance service by the workers, they are rude and incompetent and when the tenants stand up for their rights they threaten them with their lawyers. They harass you from time to time with whatever they want and very often they leave you notes on the door about the rules of the complex, all they do is harass the tenants. Not to mention the roaches out there. The office never answers or returns calls, no matter how many complaints you have, they never listen to you. My daughter was without heat this year for 2 months. They have multiple excuses, the maintenance service is lousy. Workers need more training. And if you have children in this place you will live in constant harassment from workers and management. This place is very discriminating.

We’ve been living here for about 3 years now and haven’t had the time to write my review so here it is. Pretty much overall a good experience with stores and routes nearby. But, I do have two main complaints while living here.

One being these parents with their kids who are out of control. How is it that our neighbors downstairs make so much more noise than we do? We are on the second floor! We’ve asked these tenants downstairs to keep the noise level down with their kid running back and forth and they have the audacity to say they aren’t making all this noise. For all the parents complaining that their kids can’t run around outside or whatever are the same people that don’t respect others in this community. A lot of these neighbors simply do not have common sense nor common courtesy.

Forget about the summer time… these kids riding their scooters, making a mess in front of the steps you share with other neighbors and all the running around in the parking lot not realizing how dangerous it is since cars pull in and out of the lot pretty frequently. There are perfectly well equipped and clean parks around the area but these lazy parents don’t want to take their kids there.

Second complaint would be all these bugs that crawl in the cabinets and through the small cracks that around the apartment. At least I can handle these bugs and I always keep my home clean to minimize this annoyance.
