Do not recommend renting from this company! When we first moved in, the house wasn't cleaned properly. There was grease on the cabinets in the kitchen. The space between the cabinets and ceilings was disgusting. Blinds in the house had nicotine residue on them and they smelled like smoke. The stove had never been cleaned. Repairs on the walls looked like my two year old toddler done them. The carpet was so dirty I couldn't walk around in socks or they would be ruined. It was an inconvenience, but we cleaned it ourselves. Maintenance was our biggest issue. We fought with this company for 4 months about the a/c unit. Our power bill was over $500 because they wouldn't have someone properly fix the unit. When they finally attempted to change the unit, we left for the night because it was hot and I have 2 small children and 85 degrees in the house wasnt ideal. After we were told repairs were finished, our family of 4 returned home on a saturday evening to our house being over 100 degrees in the house! We tried calling maintenance and the rental office but couldn't get anyone to answer for over an hour. When we finally got in touch with someone, they informed me that it was after hours and wouldn't even be thought of until Monday morning for us to open some windows. This instance put major stress on my dog and ruined a majority of the shelf food we had (spices, bread, cereal) and not to mention the power bill. The a/c wasn't installed properly and was "cooling" the house with hot air, so it constantly ran. There was a Crack in the master tub that was leaking water underneath and getting the bedroom carpet wet, it took them 3 months to send someone out to even look at it. I was paying for a 4 bedroom 2 bath home and didn't have access to one of the bathrooms for 3 months. Our stove stopped pre-heating to correct temperature in sufficient time. We were told to find our own repair company and we would be reimbursed for up to $250 after proper papers were sent in. After all the mess I put up with while living there, I was so ready to move. I spent three days cleaning that house from top to bottom so that we could get our deposit back. I washed walls and baseboards. We even patched and painted where we hung the tv and pictures. I mean I had this place looking brand new. I did all this work for nothing. They didn't give any of the deposit back. They charged me $700 for the remaining of a 30 day notice. I told them in February that we'd be moving at the end of March/beginning of April and they told me to call back when I had an exact date. We called March 19th and told them we would be out by the 5th and paid $250 prorated rent for that time. However, none of it was in writing so they got me there. They told me that they put it in on the 19th out of the kindness of their heart. Then they are charging me almost $600 for prorated paint for 4 years! When I questioned them about it, they said that it costed $2300 to paint the house and it should last for 4 years and that it was painted before we moved in. So they charged me for normal wear and tear! The paint they used was flat paint and it's really hard to wash flat paint and the lease says normal wear and tear is okay. It's wild how all the charges add up to the exact deposit amount. When i mentioned this coincidence to them, they told me that it was done out of generosity because they could have charged more. I was so fed up with the house before I left, I forgot to take photos. It was definitely a lesson learned and I will be more vigilant in the future. If you deal with these people, take extreme caution and keep receipts!
