Been complaining about a leak for almost 5 months now and they are still taking their time to repair our house. They redid the same floor 2 times and have had people in and out of our house for months. They tore open the ceiling and left exposed mold. It took them 3 days of water dripping from our ceiling and multiple phone calls to get someone to come out. We have tried to meet in person, but they keep delaying the meeting. It is the worst place you could imagine living if you want anything done in a timely manner.

Don’t even get me started on the week we went with no heat in the winter and our house was down to 59 degrees and it took days for them to repair it.

While I haven’t moved in yet I can say thus far Haley in their leasing office has been amazing! First off I was able to communicate with her via text which for me is always a plus! I work two jobs and don’t always have time to call someone when I have questions. She answered all my questions and never complained or seemed annoyed that I was asking somethings multiple times. I am looking forward to moving in to the South Pointe location in May and hope that the amazing customer service I have experienced so far continues!

READ THIS BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO LEASE HERE…
Its a long review but it is worth your time.

Only consider this apartment complex if you are ready to spend out-of-pocket for all maintenance issues and have the time and energy to invest in addressing these yourselves.

We have stayed across several states and apartment complexes. RENEW HAS THE WORST MAINTENANCE AND MOVE-IN EXPERIENCE OF THEM ALL.
Its clear as day that they don’t care about their residents. The day you sign the lease, their attitude changes instantly.

I have detailed descriptions below.

Maintenance Issues:
The amount of maintenance issues for a “move-in” ready home is surprising. From the time we moved in
- The AC unit is barely alive. We had to purchase boosters to keep the home cool.
- There are missing blinds and its a free show for everyone. People can clearly see everything happening in our home.
- The doors are jammed so bad that it takes all our strength to make them budge an inch
- A third of all light fixtures don’t work. We had to invest in floor lamps just so that we could have enough light to walk around.

The management is non-existent when it comes to work orders. It has been 2 weeks and not a single person has even bothered to even contact us.
So addressing the issues is nowhere in the horizon.

Uncleanliness- To start with the apartment was in an extremely dirty condition. There was not only dirt and debris, but sharp nails all over. We don’t always walk with footwear around the house and my husband got stuck by 1 in nail hidden in the carpets. And the nails were in absolutely all places.
The vents of the ac are absolutely disgustingly dirty. You will cringe looking into them. We spend a whole day cleaning just the vents to help reduce the dust flying in the air. I have been a renter for very long and there was no place that hands over the apartment is such disgusting manner. If they do, I was given a refund in my rent so that I could get the place professionally cleaned.

Leakage: 3 of the windows in the apartment have severe leakage issues. They are bad to a point that its collecting puddles of water in the apartment.
We set up office there and all our office devices (laptop, monitor, cameras, table etc.) were submerged in water due to the leakage.We had to scale ladders and put sealants on top of window frames from outside to stop the leakage. The management would not even address leakage issues.

Lastly, we signed up a lease with a very high price for 2 bedroom apartment as they promoted saying the apartment would be renovated. It is just a band aid patch for everything. The doors have holes and cracks in them. The cabinet drawers are broken. They have only painted over the cabinets to make it look like new. The Base moulding/ trims are missing in many walls. And those that are present have cracks on them. The apartment came with so many holes on the walls and ceiling.

My girlfriend and I toured a rental apartment with Kayla. She was not only very personable, but had all the answers to every question we asked. She was also very truthful when it came to price ranges and to what things were being renovated and needed to be fixed. We will definitely be putting an application in, thank you Kayla!

Don’t live here unless you want to be straight up ignored. We decided to move out at the end of our lease because my roomates graduated… The renew team has been nothing but petty since we made the decision. Good luck getting them to do anything after you decide you are going to move out. None of our issues have been addressed and I can’t even get a simple response from the team. I have been waiting over two weeks for an answer with a question about our rent. I have messaged them everyday for two weeks and NO RESPONSE!!!!!!

Have had leaking bathrooms for almost 6 weeks and still not completely repaired. Have had mold due to their inaction to fix the leaks and had to redo flooring and ceiling leaving multiple messes from workers to clean up. Landlord refuses to give any real rent discount due to all of these issues and doesn't really care about providing a safe mold free apartment with all of the bathrooms that you paid for. Toilet has been in the shower from workers for weeks so not a usable bathroom. Had to have city inspector come out to force Renew to expedite repairs.

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR HEALTH! Over the span of two years my roommates and I had multiple colds, migraines, and unexplainable illness, only to find out our unit was infested with black mold (we had to get it tested because they wouldn’t admit it was even mold in the first place). They refused to move us and assured us the black mold was “safe”. When we moved out there was muck and mold all over the apartment, in the walls, ceilings, closets because they only removed mold from one single area. The photos attached were taken the morning I moved out. Good luck to whoever has our unit next, I contacted the city and sent a list of issues and photos that were against city code. Their attic venting isn’t even angled so the condensation goes right back into the unit growing even more mold. I hope it’s fixed for whoever is next but I assume they will cover the water damage with more carpet and drywall like they did before us. Almost $2,000 for a “renovated unit” - more like the renters special bandaid fix.
