Related Midwest is the best Developer in Chicagoland. They are the gold standard Developer in Community betterment, affordable housing, philanthropic engagement, and DEI in all their dealings. This reveiw is based on my over three decades of working at all levels in the construction industry. I have seen how Related Midwest truly gives back to the entire community, whether it be a donated library, parks, helping fund community centers, you name it, they put their money where their mouth is and help every time. Alot of poeple don't realize this, but they are one of the largest Developers of affordable housing in Chicagoland. The affordable housing they create is transformative, uplifting the residents with not only beautiful housing but all the resources necessary to be successful in life. Related Midwest doesn't cut any corners when it comes to building communities. I once asked the leadership team why they spend so much more money in their Developments than other Developers. They gave me a simple answer " we don't build our buildings to flip and sell, we maintain ownership and want to be a beneficial part of the community for decades. Doing the right thing is good business ". I have seen this practiced by Related Midwest on all their developments, and can say it really works well.

Related Midwest holds all companies working for them to the highest standards for DEI. As a developer they consistently hire the most MBE/WBE firms as Primes on their projects. Many diverse companies have grown successfully thank to their efforts, which include a robust Mentorship Program run by Related Midwest executives team. The time and effort they spend preparing diverse companies for the opportunities they have leads to a very high success rate for these companies. In addition they require that large non-diverse companies doing business with them also hire and mentor diverse businesses, especially those from the local community they are part of.

Related Midwest has the highest standards for employment opportunities for poeple of diverse and economically challenged backgrounds, especially those from the inner city. Related Midwest Leadership helped create and is a founding member of HIRE360, a non-profit agency dedicated to helping offer training, financial assistance, and Mentorship to Diverse poeple and companies.

I just got hung up on twice by someone who answered the phone at Related Midwest. The first time, I introduced myself, providing my name and said I had just opened a Staffing Agency and wanted to come by but before I could finish my sentence, she said something quickly and hung up the phone.
I called back and she answered again. I said that I called earlier and we must have gotten cut off, but I saw some positions on their Careers page that I know we can help fill. She said that they have a Staffing department, thank you for calling and she hung up again!!! What business does this, especially one that is supposed to have strong community engagement! If my Front Office Coordinator did this, there would be serious repercussions.
