We lived in a Redmont property for a few years; price was outrageous given the quality and what you get. YOY they tried to raise the price even though new tenants would be offered the same initial price per month after I checked with new people. Why try to raise the rate if you are offering the same to new people? How does retention not matter to you? 1. Take pics of your apartment before you move in 2. Understand the terms of the lease and realize these guys are predatory and they will try to nit pick everything 3. Document all the services that have to be done my maintenance 4. Consider recording your interactions with management. All I can say to the gentleman that owns this company is how can you not reinforce good customer service and retention? This is a different clientele than Section-8 housing, so why are we treated like dogs by the management. Examples (paraphrasing): you better get your reapplication and money to us even if we aren’t in; skip it under the door or in the mailbox. We don’t care if we used cheap paint on the walls, if the paint has faded or peeled off you will lose your deposit- you’re welcome to paint it the same shade yourself, if you can find it. People are desperate, but it won’t always be that way.

I would rate negative stars if I could. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT LIVE HERE! This is the biggest dump ever and I had the worst experience here. The apartments are extremely old, everything is broken, and they are too cheap to fix them. I had to place over 20 maintenance repair requests throughout the year to get them to come out and actually do something. They will scam you of your security deposit, so there is no use in doing anything they list on the move out form. They do not clean the apartment before move in from the prior tenant. They painted over bugs and hair in my apartment from the prior tenant. It is quite literally unlivable. My wall was deteriorating due to the HVAC wall unit leaking and they told me they would fix it once I moved out - MOLD!!!!! See the picture attached. The staff is horrible and does not know what they are talking about. I will never step foot in this place again.

Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere!! This place is a poor excuse of an apartment complex. The kitchens are so tiny you can barely do anything in them. The radiators are broken and won’t heat during winter or they overheat and make it 90 degrees in the bedrooms. The roofs leak if you live on the top floor, my kitchen roof caved completely in. They are slow to fix problems and act like they don’t care. Ashley is beyond rude and doesn’t care about your complaints, she will call you a liar and threaten you to pay for things that you shouldn’t have to pay for. When my lease was up I did everything they asked me to do and left my new address for them to send me my deposit refund, that never happened. I called and Ashley acted like they never received it and refused to send me my deposit check to me. Not to mention parking is an absolute nightmare. Don’t waste your money here, it’s not worth it and neither is the location.

Terrible folks to rent from. Very slow to do repairs. They will rob you upon move out. BEWARE or move out. You should make sure that they fix EVERYTHING while you are still in the property. If not, then you will pay for the fix after you move out. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER REPRESENTATIVES AS WELL. Rented in Auburn, AL from them.

The office manager of this company is incredibly unprofessional and unkind.
She was not helpful, did not listen, and directly called me a liar. As a travel nurse, housing in the area is tricky due to the rotations and she was not interested in doing business with a qualified candidate because we did not follow her idea of the traditional applicant. In general, they seem to only want to provide housing to rich Homewood college students that mommy and daddy pay rent for and not the typical working class mother. Thankful she displayed her unprofessional and hateful behavior as property manager before it was too late.
I can't imagine having to deal with her for an entire lease term.

These apartments are so comfortable and sweet. The rooms are big with nice wooden floors. The location is amazing and the management team is fantastic! It is an older apartment but it has great storage (pantry’s, storage closets etc) great neighbors and a very safe place to live. Very happy with my choice!

*** loved living here until I moved. I 100% agree with the reviews about how rude Ashley is. Happy to have moved! Old building, constantly needs fixing but wonderful area. Actually wish Ashley didn’t work here because I would have never written this review without our interaction.

I have lived at Redmont Gardens for 3 years now and just recently re-signed my lease. These apartments are in a really great area- walking distance to a a few restaurants and the cutest bakery in Birmingham. This is also a fantastic area for runners! I feel very safe here. The apartments were built in the 30's I believe, so you will not have amenities like a dishwasher/washer dryer in every apartment, and there is no central heating and air (window units and radiators but they work just fine). They are very well maintained and have a lot of charm. Management has always responded very quickly if I have ever needed something and maintenance is awesome. Summer who works in the office is the best and has always helped me out with whatever I need ever since I moved in three years ago! The property is beautiful and I would recommend living here to anyone who likes some charm in their home and is looking to be in a safe area.

Terrible management and customer service. i just called about mold on our bathroom ceiling and before i could finish explaining the mold appearing on the ceiling, the lady cut me off and corrected me, she said "Oh it is just mildew and you are responsible for that, maintenance will not clean it for you." I also told her about our bedroom door that will not close, she said she will notify maintenance but will not tell me when they come by since it is not an emergency. Just terrible customer service here. They are raising our rent next year, but no improvements are being made. We will not be continuing our lease.
