Our house burned down in July of 2019. We rented a house that was managed by Realty Executives- Abdul Siddiqi Real Estate Team while our house was being rebuilt. The security deposit was taken from our insurance recoup fund. We provided ample notice for our departure and cleaned the place thoroughly. We tried to schedule a final walkthrough days before our last day, but the property manager Jessica, stated her only availability was on Wednesday 03/31/2021 which was our last day. Under the lease agreement, section 1.33C, it stated we have a right to a pre-move-out inspection to know what needed to be done prior to departure. They provide you with no time or ability to avoid outrageous charges.

Below was our list of charges along with my questions regarding them.

House & Blinds Cleaning $250.00
-The house was extensively cleaned prior to departure, what else was done?
Exterior Concrete Paint Removal & Cement Cleaning $500.00
-Paint removed was kids paint along with sidewalk chalk, why is the cost so high just to remove it?
Overgrown Landscaping $758.44
-The person who maintained the lawn was hired by your property management company which was included in the rent, why are we the ones paying for this?
Excess Trash Left on Property - 3 Toters Full $300.00
-Our garbage was cleaned out prior to departure, except for items that were there prior to move in, which Abdul was aware of, why are we getting charged?
Window Tilt Rod Missing $25.00
-$25!!

Avoid dealing with this property management at all cost!!!!

I’d really like to give them zero stars so we’ll just say this star is on google. I moved into my apartment in Stockton in July of 2016. due to some misfortune with another apartment I was trying to lease, my options were limited to say the least. No background or credit check necessary. Just come by and pick your apartment... the complex is a hodgepodge of different colors. There’s a cream/tan colored building or two, some that are a slate blue type color and then there's my building and two others... They can only be described as Ikea colors. Yes, a bright blue with trim the same color yellow as, oh say... the lines on the roads (road paint yellow).
Anyway I picked a greyhound floor apartment as it was the only one that didn't still have vomit colored bathroom counters with grey walls. It hadn't been cleaned, there was no walk through. Just hand over first and last months rent and the keys are all yours.
I didn't find out about the roaches until it was too late... Though it's not as if I could afford to back out, I was flat broke. A few months later, my apartment gets broken into while I'm away on a trip. I get a phone call that my living room window is sitting out of the frame and on the ground propped against the building. Someone had just jiggled it enough to knock the stick out of it (there are no window locks here). The person apparently unloaded my apartment in the middle of the day with nobody seeing a thing. After the burglary the maintenance man puts some window stoppers on that he'd meant to do before I moved in.
I've put in work orders to have the exterminator come through at least monthly, though I don't know why I bother. Just a spritz under the sinks and behind the stove and he's off to the next job. I wonder if he even bothers spraying the neighbors places.
I haven't been able to take a bath in my tub without water pouring out under the refrigerator and turning the bathroom into a lake. The first time I asked to have it fixed the new maintenance man informed me someone would have to fix the leaky spout in order to allow the calk around the drain to dry. Then he proceeded to apply the calking and stuck a bowl under the leak. When he came back a couple hours later and realized the bowl had spilled, he informed me I had the nicest apartment in the whole building.... The hot water continues to pour out of the handle now, months later, which makes the temperature fickle as well as raising my electric bill. Oh and still no bath for me. It's been two weeks since the last time I put in a work order online to have my faucet and drain fixed. And I know maintenance isn't slammed because last time I went to ask about it, he was lazily sweeping around the pool as if he didn't know how else to spend his time.

This might Seem petty but it's just the final straw. Suddenly and with no warning this Apartment complex is the only one in existence that won't accept packages on the tenants behalf (they did a month or so ago) because "if something were to happen to it, we would be liable." honey if you're not competent enough to hold a package in your office without busting it up, then you're clearly in the wrong line of work.

When describing reality executives as property managers the only words that come to mind are slum lords.
