this property management company gave me and four other low income long term tenants in the building this $60.21 utility passthrough on top of our allowable rent increase, clearly trying to make more money from us or to push us out. They tried to work around SF tenant rent laws for allowable rent increases and were hoping nobody would catch them. it didnt work. Utility passthroughs are the costs of electricity, gas, and steam. I paid all of my own PGE bills while living there, which includes electricity and gas. So the only costs the owner paid in utilities was the steam radiator. That doesn’t justify a random $60.21 implemented utility passthrough. Their employees stoop to harassment of their tenants and their supervisors condone this kind of behaviors and will not discipline their employees or help their tenants. i dealt with over five years of harassment, stalking, and maintenance neglect by their building manager while living here, while they turned a blind eye and excused the behavior.

Alex Poe, the Resident Manager of my current apartment in SF, exceeded my expectations of a building manager. Alex went above and beyond to help me with questions about the property and to resolve the two minor repairs for my apartment. He communicated with tenants frequently and was also just pleasant to greet and chat with. The common areas of the property were kept clean and tidy - even the garbage area - and there were even beautiful, well-maintained plants in these spaces. I would highly recommend Alex Poe as a Resident Manager.

Me and my partner switched from Beacon Properties to Meridian 6 months ago. We live in a small 12 unit complex, mostly with older aged tenants. Our introduction to the complex by the property manager, Jermaine, was uneventful. He kept saying things to my partner like “don’t have your ‘homies’ here after 11 pm” and that the complex is a “little community”. Hmm, yes we’re young but I don’t appreciate being pre judged because of our age when we’re very respectful tenants and have established careers. We pay $2k+, making noise is one thing but not having people over at all is ridiculous lol. As for the “little community”, we talked to some other tenants in the building and found out that the lady below us is a bit problematic. I didn’t think nothing of it until Valentine’s Day came, it was around 1 am when a couple OUTSIDE of our complex was arguing. My partner was in a deep sleep because they had work at 6am. The next day I get a call from Jermaine saying that the lady below us said it was US Not sure how she came to that conclusion but I told the property manager later in text that I don’t appreciate being pinned for something without some solid evidence. He never replied! :/ Lastly, there’s been a situation where I was washing clothes and had a load in the dryer and the washer. I was waiting for the load in the dryer to finish so I can put the one in the washer in. I come back to do so and my WET CLOTHES are sitting on the dryer! I look in the washing machine and someone took my clothes out to wash theirs.. like We reached out to Jermaine asking if they can find out who it was and respectfully tell them that wasn’t okay. His reasoning is that people in the past have left their clothes for hours but that clearly wasn’t he case. He acted as if putting another set of washer and dryer would fix it (has not done so as of 06/12) when it’s the fact that people are comfortable touching our personal belongings because they were impatient. Once again, no response from him after that. We love our unit but it’s starting to feel like our concerns aren’t respected by Jermaine and the property group. All the money we spend on the unit AND parking, you’d think he would do his Due diligence. Not so sure if we’re apart of the “little community” he spoke of .. 🙁

I recently moved into one of their properties in Oakland - and I was skeptical given the reviews. I reached out any got a tour from the property manager Bernardo. While I cannot speak to each and every property they manage I wanted to leave a review stating that our experience so far has been amazing thanks to Bernardo. He helped us with the application and lease, was really responsive before and after we moved in!

I am reading that many residents have struggled with maintenance - but again this hasn’t been my experience at this one property. Upon moving in, it was discovered that the contractors made a mistake in installing some of our light fixtures so that they would not sit flush with the ceiling. I spoke to our property manager about this issue and they quickly replaced the faulty ones entirely.

I am writing this review as a warning to the public regarding Meridian Management Group. As a tenant of one of their properties, I have experienced multiple issues with the warranty of habitability, including rodents, bugs, mildew, and windows that do not seal. Despite numerous complaints, the management group has failed to address these issues adequately, which has had a significant impact on my quality of life.

Furthermore, I and likely others have received notices of eviction from Meridian Management Group, which is in violation of the current moratorium. This is a clear violation of tenant rights and is unacceptable.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend Meridian Management Group to anyone looking for a reliable and responsible property management company. I urge anyone considering renting from this group to proceed with caution and thoroughly research their history and reputation before signing any contracts. As tenants, we have the right to expect safe and habitable living conditions, and it is the responsibility of property management companies to provide them.

My family and I lived in the Sherwood Oaks Apartments managed by Meridian Management Group. We gave one month notice before leaving. We paid for a cleaning service to make sure we left the place the way we found it. However, when I asked for a walk through of the apartment I was told they would not do a walk through and that we would not be receiving any part of our deposit back. We broke the lease by one month and they would not be returning any part of the deposit. I looked over our rental agreement and it wasn't stated there that we would be forfeit our deposit for breaking our lease. In fact it was clearly stated that it was based on the state of the apartment once we left. So far I have tried reaching out to the property manager and the company itself and no one will return my call. STAY AWAY!!

Worst experience. 378 Golden Gate Ave we have had dangerous mold, bugs and toxic exposure that had forced us to vacate our apartment. Now our walls/ceiling are cracking and the power outlets spark when we plug in an appliance. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE Also this building is not safe with drug dealers and addict breaking in every day. Mgmt does not care and the bldg is not meeting DBI code nor SF housing ordinances.
WE also have been gassed with toxic fumes from a laundry room that is leaking exhaust into our apartment and the laundry room but for months. Such rotten miserable people - AVOID
