Our experience with MCSD was incredibly disappointing and honestly quite heartbreaking—especially as a family with three little children just trying to settle into our new home.

We closed on our house on a Thursday and moved in Friday evening, looking forward to starting a new chapter. But instead of excitement, we were greeted with a harsh reality—the water was completely shut off. We had already submitted the service form online, but it was just outside of their business hours. No grace period, no warning, nothing. Just dry taps and silence.

I called their after-hours line, hoping for some compassion, especially with three young kids in the house. Instead, I was told that if we wanted water turned on before Monday, we’d have to pay an additional $150 on top of their standard fees and deposits. It felt like our basic human need for water was being used as a money grab. There was no flexibility, no kindness—just policy and price tags.

We couldn’t shower, cook, clean, or even flush properly. Our kids had to go to bed in a new, unfamiliar home without something as basic as running water. It was cold, stressful, and completely avoidable if there had been any consideration for the people behind the paperwork.

This experience made us feel like we were just dollar signs—not new residents, not a family, not people. I truly hope MCSD reevaluates how they treat new homeowners moving into the community. Everyone deserves better—especially families with children.

You have to pay bills in person, or get charged a fee online. Also this water/sewer costs more than most cities.
