When it came time to sell our second home in Truckee, we turned to the realtor who had sold us our home. He, in turn, introduced us to his partner, Kenny Rutledge. What a find Kenny was! He was professional in every sense of the word and went well above and beyond what we expected. From the launch of the listing, to open houses, through an original offer from which the buyer withdrew, to the final sale, Kenny was with us all the way. He kept us informed and reassured us at every step. His communication with his office staff and other realtors was relayed to us and was very helpful.
Because we lived 500 miles from the house we were selling, we were unable to perform some of the duties normally done when selling a house. But Kenny filled in for us; for example, by moving a wood pile to comply with defensible space requirements, storing outdoor furniture as the seasons changed, and returning a cable box so we could cancel our account. My wife and I decided it was time to sell our beautiful Lake Tahoe home. The big question became, “how do we go about this?” Lake Tahoe is unique place to live and although it is one of the most beautiful and spectacular places on the planet it does come with some real-world issues such as selling real estate. Yes, during hot real estate markets you can just put up a sign and sell any home but when entering into a what I call a very challenging market then being in Lake Tahoe presents some challenges that are different from a big city.

Over the last year and a half, we had been receiving a newsletter from Kenny Rutledge that came about once a month. In the newsletter Kenny always named a destination place, a music event or a restaurant in Lake Tahoe that we had never been to and we found it super awesome to go discover these new places that Kenny would write about. It became clear to us that not only does Kenny love Lake Tahoe like we do but he really knows Lake Tahoe. So we decided to give Kenny a call and discuss the sale of our house. First thing that stood out to me was his honesty. He did not hide anything and laid out the whole process and problems we would face selling during a challenging and changing time. He did not tell us what we wanted to hear so he could get a listing. Good or bad he laid it out. We have sold many homes in the Bay Area and that is not always the case with real estate agents.

Once the house hit the market Kenny went into action and it was awesome to see. He kept us informed almost on the daily and made sure we got our ducks in a row to avoid any issues when closing time came. When negotiations began Kenny did a great job and made sure we got what was best for us. It was a great smooth process and again honest and sincere all the way. I can’t say enough about Kenny and the friendship we have developed. It truly is great to have Kenny on our side and someone that knows Lake Tahoe and loves Lake Tahoe like he does.
