I had a great experience with House of Rentals. My agent was Ben Melby and he was the BEST landlord that I've ever had. Any time there was an issue with my property, Ben always responded in a timely manner, he's always patient, extremely kind and professional. Initially, I signed my lease to only stay one year, but one year turned in to six years! And it was because of Ben being such and awesome Landlord and because I loved the house. They also hired a great and responsive maintenance team to handle all issues. If you're considering a property with House of Rentals, ask to work with Ben.

We relocated from Texas and made a quick trip to the area to look at a variety of homes managed by a variety of companies and individuals. We had short time to view as many houses as possible and had a couple on our list from House of Rentals. Ben Melby met with us and took us to several properties. The house we ultimately rented was not on our list but Ben suggested we look at it. It was perfect for us.

We rented for a year from House of Rentals. I prefer to spend my money with locally-owned, mom-and-pop type businesses. House of Rentals is just that, a family business. If you aren't into working with humans and all that entails this is not the company for you. Be prepared to leave a message or use the online tool to communicate. Ben was our single point of contact and whether is was a maintenance request just a general inquiry he returned our calls in a timely manner. I particularly liked the ability to set up and manage my rent payment online.

A quiet setting a little off the road that made it feel like being in the country despite being just a minute from town. Any time a repair was needed the property manager was easy to contact and resolved the issue promptly. Ben is the best landlord a person could ask for...highly-recommend!

I give House of Rentals a big fat 0!!!! We looked at one of their homes and probably would have filled out an application for it had the boy that met us didn't ask. When he showed up at the house to meet us he didn't introduce himself, walked past our car to open the door and just walked in. We got out of our car and he was in the house, looking at his phone. Could not tell us really any details on the house except for the fact that the ac was pretty new and the carpet was a year or so old. Looked at his phone repeatedly, almost every question was either answered with I don't know or probably not. I feel sorry for the people that have this company trying to rent their homes. The guy was a jerk and I will never rent from them. I will also tell everyone that is looking for rentals to steer clear!!

The house was beautiful and the location was great. On the other hand, the management needs great improvement.

I was suppose to meet the gentleman two different times on the same day but I could not. On both times I ((called)) before the agreed times came due and informed him that I could not make it. We finnaly agreed on a time that worked for both of us, so, we ended up waiting an hour in front of the house and tried calling multiple times with no answer! To add, he did not try (calling) us to let us know he was running late. Finally, we decided to leave but he showed up. While he was showing us this gorgeous house, he was on his phone "texting, playing... I don't know". I had to grab his attention everytime I asked a question. Rude, inattentive or unprofessional, it is up to you to decide.

The reason I couldn't meet him the two times was the fact I work overseas and just flew back home and was preoccupied with trying to settle in.

He took our application and said he will get back to us in "a few days". 10 to 11 days later (aug.10) he calls to ask about the annual income so that he can process the application!!! Keep in mind we E-mailed him stating that we need the house by Aug.1st and he replied it would not be a problem.

As an out of the area property owner it is very important that I am able to depend on House of Rentals in Carterville. Over the years they have proved to be reliable and I trust them to make the right decisions for me and the property. I recommend their services to owners and renters.
