My experience here at Hilltop Commons has been nothing but the best everyone has been so polite and accommodating. I put in a maintenance request and the turnaround time was extremely fast. The ladies in the office were all very helpful. Thank you, Hilltop. Common staff job well done.

with the help of Andrea my move in was really fast and easy. She was very good at communicating with me about the status of my application and helped out with any minor problems I had.

It all started with me looking at apartments and choosing this as this have the lowest rent of all the other apartments I’ve looked at.

Oh man, did I choose the wrong one. I had a lady helping me when I first started the application process back in November, Then early December she ā€œleftā€ along with another lady. The website says it opens at 10am, but doesn’t open until 1pm as the sign on the office door stated. I went back again another day and this time it says it doesn’t open until 2pm. This is when they haven’t found any replacement yet. It took me a few days going back and forth trying to hand in my house closing statement and trying to get in touch with the office people and only then a ā€œ tempā€ person finally opened the office door after knocking. I told her everything about my application from the lady that was helping me before and she says she doesn’t know. Like really? Didn’t the managers trained her before she started working and helping out with applications?

The things that bothered me was, they only have 1 front desk person helping you, like you are assigned to that specific front desk person if they helped you the first time. The 2nd front desk couldn’t help you and just refers you back to that one who helped you before. Like what? There are 2 front desk people. It makes no sense.

Another thing is, they have you redo paper works for no reason when I have already done them and them asking more and more each time. What a waste of time.

Third thing, is they don’t ever answer phone calls. If you are trying to contact them through phone, good luck. They won’t answer calls. If by mere chance they answer, you got lucky. Not even that, they might not even give what you need. Better off going to the office and asking directly from there.

So all in all, I basically wasted 2 months going back and forth doing and handling the paperworks. Every time they ask more and more never ending paperworks. 2 months and this application process is not even done. Haven’t even gotten the approval to move in while I’m out on the streets from selling the house just a week ago. Pretty much went there every day with them never giving me updates and asking more and more paperworks. I finally gave in when they called today asking for more income. Seriously? My dad’s income had nothing to do with this because it’s just me and my mom applying. Not even that, the property manager called me last Tuesday saying they will be processing my approval and it takes 3 business days. She said she will call me back last Thursday, but no calls. I tried calling back 7 times on Friday. Not a single person answered the phone. Yeah. I’m done with this apartment. Made me and my mom paid $240 to pick/hold a unit so early before even doing the paperworks. They received the payment so early and can’t even get this application process done and approved for us. They can only give us back $150 and not the full $240. The fee is not
refundable in their own words. Yeah right lol.

If you are in a rush like me to try to move into an apartment, DON’T. My original plan was ruined. I had to beg a couple of my friends to let me stay at their places for a few days due to this unfortunate situation with this apartment because I didn’t have a place to go to after selling the house. I will have to go back and get back that $150 and not the full $240 just because. It’s like they don’t want you to rent their apartments for some odd reason and trying to take your money not giving me the full $240. What a shame. I actually did like the unit I picked and having a bus stop just outside the apartment was a plus, but I guess some things just aren’t meant to be. Oh well. Moving on and never looking back. I’ll find a better apartment that I can move in fast.

I am in the process of moving from Arizona. So we have been searching for places. I was contacted by hilltop and told to submit all the required documentation listed on the site being that there are income restrictions. Because I am in another state and applications need to be filled out in person I was told submit my documents and I could have a family member pick up the application and send it to me to fill out. I sent a family member in because after submitting my documents I heard no word back. When my family member went in she gave my name and was turned away saying they had never heard of me. She called me and went back in with me on the phone I told them i had spoken with miranda she goes to verify and comes back in literally 3 seconds and says Miranda is un aware of that. Instead of trying to argue I say okay how can we start this process over so that next time this is not an issue. Her response is the same miranda is unaware of that. Literally Not what I asked. She completely waived us off unwilling to work with us. I will be taking up a complaint with Fairfield as well because I submitted personal information in that documentation email and for some reason the complex acted as if It was never received when it was submitted twice. A better interaction would have been to work with us in restarting the process if they were unaware. I move to the area in less than 30 days luckily I had another option available but from the first interaction with this complex that was my top choice until this experience. Not sure why an apartment complex wouldn’t want to rent an apartment I always thought that was the point.

My car has been broken into multiple times. I've requested an additional assigned parking spot verbally, email and via RentCafe since March (Its September) to at least park closer to my apartment since parking is bad anything after Building 17. I was told "Parking is not a priority". I received a voicemail from office stating a parking was assigned (which was a lie) as it never reflected on my parking reliant app nor said "Reserved". I returned call which went unanswered.

Washer rooms are locked at times despite regular washing room hours. They lock both locks, residents have access to one and admin has access to the other lock. Very inconvenient to a resident. Gym has never been open. Cameras have never been sent up after being told my whole 3 years of living here that they're working on it. They use to have "security" . Not sure if they still do at this time. However, previous securities were pretty unprofessional (Drinking on the job or chilling in washing rooms being useless. Seen with my own eyes last year). Apartments complex is filled with feral cats.

The first year living here, I had no complaints. Which has definitely changed over the years.

Rats, ants, garbage everywhere, dog poop, no parking, gate never works, office staff is rude and extremely unhelpful , maintenance barely does their job. U have to bug office staff and maintenance for at least 3 months straight before they do what ur asking
