The boardwalk was nice but short. Definitely want to bring bug spray the deer flies will eat you alive. Not too much to see. My boys more so enjoyed catching crabs out of the ditch & seeing a dead alligator. But its quite & it's outside. I would love to see the boardwalk extended to the water. & it would also be nice if people would actually do the right thing & NOT litter.
Oh! the road to get there is another experience as well.

I drove nearly two miles down a muddy, unpaved road only to come to a dead end with two separate gates blocking vehicle access. I would suggest parking in the gravel lot with signs right where the paved road ends & the dirt road begins. It is on the left side of Henderson Camp Road. Better to park there then risk your vehicle getting stuck in the mud. Then you can walk down the unpaved road.

A remote but attractive boardwalk into Bay country. Suggest 4-WD as roads are rough. Recent rains created large lagoons in Road.

Beautiful boardwalk through tall Pinewoods ending at a deck over a marsh. Very nice place for birding. Sedge Wren were out at the Marsh and a pair of Great Horned Owls were calling in the pines, providing great views. The dirt road is bumpy, but it's worth it. A nice escape from Bayou La Batre.

It was a nice drive but we couldn't actually access the preserve because it was gated off! We could have probably gotten out and walked but we didn't want to. Yeehaw
