I met the founders of Fort + Home back when they were renovating some of their first residential properties. I was immediately impressed with their work ethic, dedication to the community and uniquely classic style. They have been able to strike a balance between working on high value homes and projects that contribute towards the city’s affordable housing needs. I got to tour several of their projects in Denver, including a cute cottage makeover. It had adorable and quirky stylings such as hexagonal tiles imbedded in the oak floors as you entered, and a small reading nook under the stairs. I was also able to visit as they finished a million dollar makeover that reached three stories high. It had both a balcony and a rooftop view of the Denver skyline with the Rocky Mountains from the valley. It was incredible. Their classic Nordic style mixed with modern touches such as a spigot over the gas range really created a simple, highly functional, clean, light and cozy environment. As their projects evolved, so did they and it was really inspiring to see. When I was approached about partnering with the team in an effort to save some beautiful historic buildings in uptown Butte, I couldn’t find any reason to say no. Their evolution from Residential to Commercial has been fluid and promising, bringing new business and residences to places like Grand Junction, CO and Butte, America. It has been an absolute honor to be a part of some of the last few projects and I always look forward to what they have in store for the future. Thank you for all of your hard work, and the wisdom and heart that’s behind it.
