I extend my deepest gratitude to Grace K at Echelon Care & Rehab Center in Voorhees, NJ, for her exceptional hospitality and meticulous care during my mother’s first short respite stay. The staff’s professionalism, kindness, and unwavering dedication made the experience truly remarkable. My mother found great comfort in conversing with someone who spoke her Cantonese dialect and appreciated the nurturing Asian community within the facility.
A special thanks to Julie and the dedicated staff for their tireless efforts. Their commitment and attentiveness did not go unnoticed, and we are sincerely grateful for their care.
Without hesitation, we will entrust Echelon Care with our future needs. My heartfelt appreciation goes to the entire team including both the second and fifth floors for their exceptional service and compassionate caregiving.
That said, while the care and support were outstanding, the dated facility itself could benefit from infrastructure improvements, including renovations, medical equipment upgrades, and enhancements to parking, elevators, and technology.

My husband is a client at Echelon Rehab and he was not happy about being anywhere but home. The staff is so accommodating and they do everything they can to take care of his needs. They are always there to assist him. The therapist and nurses answer all questions and encourage him. And the food is actually pretty good, if I say so myself. There is a friendly atmosphere here that makes it conducive to healing. The entire staff starting at the reception area to housekeeping and maintenance should be applauded for making this a place where your health can be restored.

My stay at Echelon was well. I had attentive staff and very supportive physical therapy Judy and team and nurses Lawanda, Joanne, and my two night nurses who never minded my host of crazy hospital stories and spoof stories (great sports entertaining me and my uncanny experiences but nonetheless very patient in listening). My after care team was also very caring and supportive assuring my transition back home was smooth and seamless. I would say out of transparency we did experience some communication challenges hence the 4 stars, however this was quickly remedied by handing me over to someone else on their staff that was very responsive and on top of follow up between me and my physicians questions and needs. Any gaps that may have been experienced they quickly worked to mediate and fix. My concierge team was very sweet they came to check on me almost daily and asked if I anted to play games or join others in the cafe or community area. Although most times I liked to keep to myself or read and watch some TV it meant a lot to have them ask and maintain a welcoming feeling. I would say they are working very hard and open to effective recommendations to make the facility a progressive and competitive place of care. Thank you all for your unconditional well rounded treatment and care.

This Center has been improving. I know it’s an older building but it does have wonderful staff. The facility always seems clean. The staff is always friendly and helpful which is much appreciated. I’m not a big fan of the food they serve but today I had an interaction with a man named Mike on the second floor. He went well above of expectations. I must say in today’s world to see that type of compassion and empathy is becoming uncommon. I would really like to thank Mike for giving me faith in the good of all people. That was a moment of excellence and I needed recognize it. Thank you Mike!

Not everything is bad about this place. With that being said, my mother missed multiple life extending chemo treatments while here. Or when they would actually get her there, her oxygen tank would run out while she was there. They told me at one point her insurance was no longer to pay to keep her there, and she would have to go to a homeless shelter. (This wasn't the case and my mothers insurance representative went there and advocated for her with no issue) The manager Eugenia did not secure anything for my mothers transition to Florida, although we had multiple transition meetings with my mom's insurance and a state transition expert. I had to buy everything myself as far as hospital bed and supplies. The major issue was that I showed up on the day to move my mother, and she had failed to secure oxygen for my mother who had lung cancer. They also did not pack a single thing, and that was included in our agreed upon plan. I had to go above her head and do her work for her...in which I secured oxygen for my mother within two hours of finding out she had prepared absolutely nothing for her.The entire drive to Florida (mom was terrified of flying) my mother's travel oxygen device kept failing and we had to keep pulling over to charge it every 4 hours. This is because the preparations were not executed on her end, as it should have been avoidable. She struggled to breathe the entire time. My mother passed away at the end of January here in Florida while I took care of her, myself. I've never seen such medical negligence in my life, as I myself work in a medical office. Nobody who is terminal and is going to die should have to go through what my mother went through with them. I did not write anything at the time because I busy caring for my mother, and then was grieving for some time. I wanted to make sure I wrote this with a clear head, and not overcome by emotion. I hope that woman does not work there anymore. No patient deserves that kind of treatment.
