TTSD continues to underserve our community with fraudulent charges and sub par services. Latest scheme is CRV collection only mon-Fri 8am-2pm. Are you kidding me? This, people, is what happens when you privatize essential services.

Welcome to the Truckee dump. Yes, you’re reading a review for the eastern regional landfill. They handle trash, recycling, yard waste, and compost. The folks here are really nice, and this is a great place to bring your kids to learn about sustainability. My kid asked “where do all those pine needles fo that we rake up, so I brought her here and showed her the huge pine needle pile. 5/5, would visit again.

The worst, rudest, most expensive dump I've ever been to. They charged me $48 for a 5x10 trailer of pine needles. The same pine needles they turn around and sell to the public. Talk about gouging. They used to allow us to drop them off for free, but the rude manager put a stop to that. And people wonder why there's illegal dumping everywhere? This place is why. Who can afford $48 per load of pine needles? I will avoid these ripoff artists as much as I can. If I have to haul to Reno, I will.

Twice since December, the Eastern Regional Landfill drivers have skipped picking up garbage at our home. It's kept in a bear box, and was accessible both times. When this happens, there's no way for you to free yourself of your garbage except by driving it to the Cabin Creek Transfer Station -- and paying accordingly. They are not able to provide a credit on your annual invoice when they miss pickups. The only other alternative is to keep it for two weeks, and have them get it the following time which might be a solution for many customers. So while I don't like the solutions I received when I called, I have great respect for the team who routinely retrieves our garbage and I'll continue to do my best to make their job easy and fast by keeping the bear box clear, dry and accessible. For this reason alone, I give them four stars.

Very easy to find, the place is well organized and easy to navigate around. The staff is very friendly and informative. Ive gone there a few times with various loads from recycling a stove to recycling mattresses in another area to yard waste in the back and refuse in the garage and all the roads were clean of debri and everything went so smooth. I will definitely be back and the prices are reasonable too.

I'm a regular there now I'm hauling green waste for defensive space and they keep the place clean and wet so the dust stays down the ladies at the front are super nice. I'm in and out in a timely manner it's a great place. It hasn't changed since the last time I reviewed it but more people are starting to know me around there

You can’t just cover Tahoma for free yard waste disposal. It’s about 10 more people bringing their pine needles there as opposed to making us drive around emerald bay. Lame!

Yay recycling is open again! Everyone who works here are great folks. Its a dirty job, thanks Mike Rowe!, and I think a majority of people have no clue how grateful we all should be for the employees of every landfill or refuse facility. I'm grateful for the service and hard work everyone here provides.

I have a summer home in Carnelian Bay and have been making dunp runs to the transfer station in Incline because it's much closer. Today we were quoted $177.00 to dump an 8'× 12' trailer of old carpet, we drove to the dump in Truckee and paid $36.00 for the same load. It's worth the drive to Truckee.
