My wife and I visited CopperWood on Monday. We were guided by Dorothy Quintero, who was very pleasant, courteous and helpful.
She gave us information as we asked, and didn’t push us in any way.
She was very helpful afterwards, contacting us to update us on our application.
We liked CopperWood a lot, with its beautiful wooded surroundings, and the amenities were very nice. We liked the exercise room and how clean everything were.
We are now waiting with anticipation to join our newly rented unit in CopperWood.

I had a great time staying at Copperwood, and I would recommend the property. Dorothy at the from desk was especially helpful.

Copperwood is a nice modern bulding, the apartments are spacious with new high quality appliances, and there is a beautiful forest nearby with lots of wild-life (a famous mathematician named Veblen use to live there 50 years ago). The soundproofing is a weak point, but the residents are quiet and respectful, so this ended up not mattering for us.

I’ve had a wonderful experience living such a longer period since 2018 at Copperwood Apartments in Princeton, NJ. The community is peaceful, and the surroundings are beautifully maintained. The location is perfect – close to shopping, dining, and the town's charm, yet tucked away in a quiet area.

The apartments are spacious, modern, and thoughtfully designed, with high-quality finishes. The management team is attentive and responsive, always ready to address any concerns promptly. Maintenance requests are handled quickly and efficiently. The amenities, including the fitness center and outdoor spaces, make it a great place to live.

Overall, Copperwood is a great balance of luxury, comfort, and convenience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch living experience in Princeton!

Beautiful, peaceful, with stunning wooded views, yet just around the corner from everything that downtown Princeton has to offer. Walking distance from Princeton shopping center which has dining, bagels, Ace Hardware, Walgreens, and more. The beautiful natural light from the large Windows and the gorgeous bamboo floors along with the huge walk-in closet in the main bedroom are just some of the attractions of these units. Serene walking trails through the woods let you get fresh air right outside your door. Staff is very friendly and helpful… A great place to live!

I've chosen Copperwood over all the available rentals in Princeton for very good reason. This is not a "cookie-cutter" development like all the other apartment complexes, the layouts are different and the setting is quite rural, yet close to all the wonderful benefits of living in Princeton (libraries, arts venues, shops, restaurants, shopping, etc etc). I cannot wait to move in!

I had a wonderful experience touring the apartment and learning everything about it! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful! It’s surrounded by nature and gives you a lot of privacy and has a private trail for residents. Everything seems really nice. Highly recommend!

I have lived in Copperwood for 2 years and I love it here. The buildings are extremely well managed and maintained and very clean. The apartments are spacious with high end finishes and appliances. I enjoy working out in our little gym and relaxing in our community room, as well as walks around this peaceful green property. I have met so many friendly, interesting people here, it is a wonderful community. I highly recommend Copperwood!

At first look Copperwood appears to be a well maintained property nestled in a wooded setting on the outskirts of Princeton, but it is far from the luxury living that the building promotes.

First, the positives: the surrounding area is quiet and serene, the apartments are spacious and modern, heated underground parking is a nice perk, the community gym was recently renovated, and the residents are friendly and outgoing.

The negatives largely stem from on-site management lacking the professionalism and skills to run a so-called luxury building.

+The building manager puts on a good face at first, but her incompetence and lack of empathy for tenants becomes clear very quickly. I understand that managing a building is no small feat, but she makes up her own rules with complete disregard for terms that are explicit in the lease. She will make you think that you are the only one experiencing an issue, but it’s clear many of the issues are wide spread. Duh, neighbors talk to each other. At one point after I submitted my move-out notice I was speaking with her about an issue and her response was, “you should have moved out sooner.”

+If you want to reach the building managers superior, then good luck. There is no direct line to the management company (Shamco Mgmt Corp) and when I was finally able to locate the managers name/email through Google & LinkedIn research my emails were left unanswered.

+The live-in super is generally friendly to tenants but he is verbally abusive to the porters in public, constantly taking on an aggressive tone and instilling fear in his workers. The unprofessional and it makes tenants feel uncomfortable. The man is not suited to be managing people.

+The walls and floors are paper thin. If you value peace and quiet then rent an apartment on the 4th floor, otherwise you will hear every movement from your neighbor above. When we spoke with the building manager about the excessive noise at odd hours (2am and 3am) she said “this is apartment living” and eventually told us to call the police to report a noise complaint. She was completely unwilling & unable to solve the noise disturbance.

+There are rampant roach and other pest issues in the building that go unaddressed. The day we moved into the building our apartment was infested with cockroaches. When we complained about the issue management looked at us wide-eyed, uncertain what to do. It wasn’t until my wife instructed management to order Advion Cockroach gel from Amazon that they made the purchase and supplied the gel to us so that we could treat the apartment on our own. There are also a number of occasions where we found dead frogs in the building. Yes, you read that correctly.

+One of the high-end Grohe faucets in the en suite bathroom was leaking so the super replaced both faucets with lower quality no-name faucets. This was a common theme throughout the building — Many times if a luxury appliance or feature requires maintenance it is replaced with a lower quality version.

+Our unit had a view of the wooded area and our windows were filthy from pollen and algae build up. For over 18-months we continued to ask management to clean our windows before they reluctantly agreed and decided to hire a crew with a power washer to spray the windows with a chlorine like substance. It was far from a proper window cleaning and still didn’t completely solve the buildup issue.

+The building boasts “smoke free environment” and the lease explicitly states “no smoking on the premises”, but some tenants smoke on the grounds and litter cigarette butts. Management turns a blind eye regardless of the many complaints from non-smoking tenants.

The examples above are just a taste of my experience at Copperwood. If this sounds like luxury living to you then you’ll be completely happy living there, however, I would encourage you to consider other apartment options in the Princeton area. There are a number of new buildings being constructed within city limits so hopefully the competition helps Copperwood focus on improving management and living conditions.
