Be very skeptical about this company. I sent an email out letting them know that the compliance manager (Sheryl) at the (The Place At Burlington) asked some very invasive questions throughout my intake process and wanted a photo of my debit card in order to get approved last week and I declined and told her she can move forward with someone else (they never got back to me btw). That was not the only invasive question she asked. She went through my transactions in front of and asked me who people were as if that was relevant or her business then later said that management wanted to know who someone else was in my transactions.

She was so busy going through my transactions, poking and prying instead of doing what she was supposed to do. If it were in fact true that someone above her in charge of approving me wanted to know this information then they are just as crooked as her and they all should be shut down, investigated and/or replaced. All the fake reviews from the employees and friends in the world couldn't bring this management company or the Place at Burlington to a solid 5 ⭐ rating smh lol.

The communication between C.I.S., resident relations and property managers especially at their apartments in Woolwich Township, NJ is a lot to be desired.

I can't get anyone to return my calls, replace things that have been broken in my apartment since June 2024 until present October 2024. They tell you one thing and do another. No trustworthiness here. Then they want you to sign a lease 3-4 months in advance!

Until they follow protocol my rent, water & sewer will be put into escrow beginning November 2024.

****EDIT 2025 UPDATED ****
Management changes like a revolving door there’s a two year max maybe for them staying and it’s hard to get in contact with anyone you don’t know who to report to very very distasteful place and people.
Nothing has changed. Everything just continuously gets worse. Management does not care about the residence here they don’t care about their workers either. Also management has become more and more condescending and ignoring all work orders, and any attempts to upkeep the buildings I’ve made several complaints since I’ve been living here, but they want to attack me at any other resident that brings complaints to them as opposed to resolving it as a customer service representative should. I do not recommend coming here as I’m currently here and I don’t even feel safe in my own home… avoid avoid avoid please if you can find something do it but if you can’t make a plan to only be here for a short term until you get what you need… That is it and that is all…. peace and blessings

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!
1) They Never Answer the Phones or call you back!

2)I've made an arrangement to meet for the paperwork and discuss move in... I arrived with my Baby and Waited... Because the Office was Closed and NO ONE had the Courtesy of calling me to reschedule or even to Notify me!

3)I've been approved to move in they told me LAST WEEK, for a Move in date OF August 1st.
I initially was up on the waiting list for the apartment in April and they told me the process would have me to move in as of May 1st... In between time I've heard NOTHING from them until LAST WEEK End of July. Now I'm a single parent scrambling again to get the security deposit, because I assumed from the lack of communication that they weren't considering me anymore, but they won't accept help from Social Services or other companies willing to aide in my deposit.

I can Only imagine what it would be like if I Move In!!!.. They've made this process so stressful and agonizing for me, and they don't even seem to care!! There was only one woman there that I like but they let her go!

I was harassed by several people and told the office , they said that they couldn't do anything
So I always call the police department
Even cis manager nothing
So I broke my lease and moved to a awesome place

unfortunately, zero stars is no option here. applying for a property locally one will get the run-around, constant vague answers, and demands for papers, papers, papers with no end in sight and NO indication of whether, after all that, one can be placed in the community. 'oh we have units available' no, they don't, at least not immediately or in the very near future within 3-6 months. Calling management one gets snarky, condescending people dealing with you as if they are inconvenienced for actually being a community resource to a person looking for the accommodations that are advertised ad nauseum but don't actually exist and, if they do, good luck getting it because you will not be told where you are on the list, turnaround time on average for the lists, etc. Ridiculous and a waste of time because I could have been pursuing other properties where people actually CARE about your inquiry. This goes for Atlantic and Mercer County properties in NJ. It's amazing to me in this day and age that people get away with this. False representation in order to get the low income affordable investment from the FEDS, States or counties and then the general public can hold their hands on their collective derrieres waiting for action. Another b/s public policy failure. Thank you for reading.

Good morning,
I have been a long standing resident of one of Cis rental properties in Woolwich Twp, NJ.
Management really needs an upgrade on professionalism. Why are tenants not able to reach office management during normal business hours. Why are tenants not notified of offices closing or changes. When tenants call
corporate you get the same response.
Does anyone from Cis Management consider the fact that possibly a working Class tenant is calling during the only down time they have which is usually their lunch break and is pressed for time?
Cis nor it's Managers cannot continue to demand rent
but refuse to address tenants issues or concerns.
Cis and its local property Managers must do better.
It cost nothing to be considerate and respectful of others feelings and time.
Note: I don't wanna hear a response talking about contact tenant relations. Tenants have taken those avenues as well

Have a great Day

Our building was flooded in Elizabeth and 1st floor lost everything and 2nd floor and up has not been allowed to return despite their not being damage. 600 families are displaced with nearly zero communications from CIS our our City . Everyone lost their cars, is living in hotels with the few cloths they grabbed (during warm months it is now getting cold) and we have no expectation as too when we will return. CIS is sending out letters that rent is due yet we can't enter the property to retrieve our belongings. They are reaching out to families and are offering to uproot them as far as Atlantic City, while our jobs, doctors, kids school is all in Elizabeth. And mind you WE CANT return to retrieve belongs to even make the move.

UPDATE: July 2022
Its been 9 months and no one has been able to retrieve their belongings. CIS was trying to force/trick people into singing a document stating that we where allowed back in and that anything left behind is abandoned. It's a lie since no one has been allowed back in.

Go up
