If you're buying glass, you'll definitely want to call and ask if there's any damage before bidding on any item because they're apparently not openly divulging that information. I drove from clarksville to one of their Murfreesboro auctions, excited to pickup a vintage fire king refrigerator set. I was carefully loading it up and that's when I saw one of the glass lids with 3 huge chips in it. Needless to say, I'm not happy and this will most likely be my first and last experience buying from this company.

Seeing how I can't respond directly to your response, I'll do it this way.

1. "We try our best to take photos of any noticeable damage or wear to the items we list."

In this case, I highly doubt it. You made sure to take a pic of the Fire King logo on the bottom. Which shows, you knew they're desired and valuable, but didn't take the time to inspect it or if you did take the time to inspect the damage, you didn't care to show the damage if the damage was there at the time of taking the pic.

2. "All of our online auctions offer a public preview where you can come and inspect the items in person before bidding. It seems you were unable to make it to the preview before this auction."

It seems, you missed that part where I said that I drove from clarksville to Murfreesboro, genius. Obviously, I was not going to drive 1hr 40 minutes for a preview.

3. "All items are sold AS IS/WHERE IS as stated in our online terms that you agreed to before bidding. Please in the future if you are unsure of an item's condition make you sure you ask us questions before bidding or come to our preview so you can see the item before you place your bids."

This isn't my first time buying from auctions. However, I wonder if the damage came from how it was loaded because the lid that was damaged was placed upside-down and had other items stacked on it. And the fact you have little kids working for you fully explains why such a nice set would have been loaded like trash. The fact you have little kids working for you, explains why it was loaded carelessly upside-down on the lid.
