I have been living in apartments managed by Margaret and Julia for about 4 years now. This is my first apartment and living on my own with my boyfriend. Both Margaret and Julie are great at responding and solving any issues and concerns we may have. They take care of the apartments to keep it cleaned outside and take care of any maintenance issues. I appreciate their communication they always send emails and let us know how to reach them if needed and they have responded quickly to my text messages when I had an emergency plumbing issue. Their online systems are very convenient for paying rent and putting request for maintenance. They are very nice people and I just wanted to leave this review to say thank you to you both(:

There are a lot of unfounded complaints on this site. Margaret is an excellent property manager. She has more than 25 years experience as a real estate agent, broker, and property manager. She knows the law and the business inside and out. She is fair and is willing to work with tenants, following the terms of their contract. She has excellent repair people and vendors with whom she has developed strong relationships over her lengthy career in property management. She currently manages the property in which I have an ownership stake, and has handled property sales for me in the past.
Ignore the nonsense. College Real Estate provides excellent, informed service to its clients.

I notice that there are some reviews here with no explanation. Those of us that are pleased use our full names and descriptions of our experience. Please don't be fooled and give this company a chance.

College Real Estate has been my property manager of 16 units for many years. I would have NO ONE else manage my properties!! Margaret and Julie have done the best job. Other property management companies have left my units vacant for up to 6 months. Not College Real Estate. I NEVER have a vacancy and I NEVER, NEVER have delinquent rents. COLLEGE REAL ESTATE IS THE BEST!!!!!

As an owner of several small rental properties in the surrounding area, I can attest to the fact that College Real Estate, Inc. provides excellent results at a reasonable cost for property management seevices. I have worked with both Margaret and Julie for several years now, and they always keep me well-informed on my rentals and tenant status. They are also never too busy to promptly answer any questions or concerns I have or to give informed opinions on possible courses of action to take, something that is vital to me now that I have moved out of the area. They are truly "worth their weight in gold", I couldn't imagine functioning as a small-rental landlord without their excellent service and advice.

My son and his roommates had put in requests to have plumbing fixed due to sewage coming up in the showers. It took over a week for the repair to be made leaving them without use of a toilet or shower. The rental agency disputes they were notified but there are records proving otherwise. The rental agreement states tenants are responsible for the bill if they are found negligent. No one from College Real Estate would meet the repairman. My son had to miss work in order to have working plumbing. The problem occurred twice. The rental company is trying to take advantage of these young men to pay for upkeep to the property. Parents should be leery about renting with them.

I would like to respond that the management company did not suggest my son talk to the fair housing authority he went on his own accord. My son spoke with the plumber who told him it was highly unlikely that they caused the plumbing issues since the problem was found far from the house and was surprised that the management company was trying to force the tenants to pay. Please be advised on how unfairly tenants are treated.

I’m very pleased with College Real Estate. Margaret makes property ownership a breeze! She’s a native to the area and has relationships with numerous contractors that 1) don’t overcharge and 2) respond promptly and effectively. She also stays abreast of all relevant Landlord-Tenant law in CA as it is constantly changing. If you’re looking for a property manager, College Real Estate won’t let you down.

Margret is rude and very unprofessional I have a terminally ill child in my home and she doesn't care that I'm a mother that takes her child to so many appointments that I need more than a 24 hrs notice to enter my home. Not to mention they cut down my direct tv box down during repairs didn't tell us and put my dish on the ground in the carport. Now I have no TV for my terminally ill child. They are rude trying to fine us for garbage other neighbors from another complex are putting on the side of our trash. They don't like me and they do anything to retaliate against me. They lock me out of my hoise for hours yesterday until they finally let me in. Someone from fair housing should shut this lady down.
