The photos don’t do justice, the house was much bigger than we expected and so cosy with a window seat that caught the sun, gave us ocean views and a chance to watch the world go by. The beds were super comfy, the kitchen was well stocked and we had fire wood for the fire. It is a two minute walk to the coastal trail and we enjoyed walking to the Sea Ranch lodge for a fancy dinner. This place is paradise. Highly recommend!

The Coasting Home team was incredibly responsive and kind. The property itself was fine and was middle of the road for Sea Ranch - we’ve stayed at more stocked/up to date/high end places and places that needed a lot more updating/fixes and this place was fine. It has the feel of a permanent rental with a mishmash of supplies, utensils, etc. and has more builder-grade vs high end finishes but everything worked and felt well-kept. The location is solid - a short walk to Shell Beach and the seal rookery - and we were so happy to find a comfortable place to stay with our pup!

Staying in such a beautiful and comfortable home in this magical and magnificent area is the best vacation ever! There is so much to do in the area (hiking, lighthouses, beaches, nature gazing) but just relaxing at the Sea Gate house (watching, listening, smelling the ocean while watching for whales and a huge variety of birds) is my favorite. I feel all the stress leaving my body as soon as I see the view and it just gets better from there. Great eateries near by, but creating meals at home is a joy as well with the incredibly well equipped kitchen. And then there is soaking in the hot tub, enjoying a gorgeous sunset or watching a starry night. Then falling to sleep to the lulling sounds of the waves in a super comfy bed…it’s heaven on earth at Sea Gate. Thank you!!’

Our stay at this home exceeded our expectations by far. The accommodations, the amenities, and the views. We plan to return to this vacation rental in the near future. On top of this, the host was exceptional. She was very helpful in making sure that we had a great experience. Very responsive.

Every rental we have booked through Coasting Home has been wonderful, thanks to the care and dedication of the staff. We have been renting from them for over a decade. Need something? This house is beautiful, like all Sea Ranch homes. I have gone here annually for the last 43 years.
This house has some MAJOR issues, however.
The gas stove almost set two ppl on fire because of the huge flame when starting it.
There were THREE flights of stairs that they don’t highlight and I have 74 yr old parents.
The heat doesn’t work in the whole house so parts of it didn’t reach over 63 degrees.
Lastly, the locks are ridiculously difficult and the front door lock was BROKEN when we arrived. The rental lady was great, the house not so much. I should’ve pushed for a discount honestly. Beware when renting this home.

We loved staying at Serendipity. Immaculately clean, wonderful beds, lovely decorations and the view! Did I mention the view? With the storms, the Gualala River was magnificent to behold, framed by the cathedral windows of Serendipity!
