What an unexpected surprise to witness a man repairing the big dent on Autry, at the intersection Hedda/Autry! Every time we drive on this spot we would pick a different route to avoid driving on it because the car would jump no matter how slowly we try and drive. We were hoping one day it would be fixed. The guy who was fixing it was pleasant and friendly!

If I’m not allowed to park there doesn’t matter if it’s temporarily or not it’s not OK that USPS can park there. It’s still a law that has to be obliged

Terrible Experience with Lakewood
Community Development Department - Rude
Staff and Unreasonable Fees
I had an absolutely horrible experience trying to get a permit through the Lakewood Community Development Department. The entire process is unnecessarily complicated, filled with endless hoops to jump through, and the fees they charge are downright unreasonable.
To make matters worse, I had to deal with someone named Sean, who works in this department. He was incredibly rude, condescending, and completely unpleasant to work with. His unprofessional attitude made an already frustrating process even more unbearable.

If you need to deal with the Community Development Department, prepare for a nightmare of bureaucracy, poor customer service, and exorbitant fees. This department desperately needs improvement, starting with staff who know how to treat people with basic respect.
Save yourself the headache if you can - this was a terrible experience all around.

Beautiful parks and currently celebrating the city's 70th anniversary. There is no other city as beautiful or well maintained as Lakewood. Our city is perfect for raising a family and attending any of the six surrounding school districts found across the city. Lakewood truly is treasure.

Street Sweeping is a joke. even if you prove you couldn't move your car they don't care. Bunch of heartless scum. City of Lakewood doesn't care about you they just want a way to have more of your money.

City council is insane. Good luck getting a building permit with all the hoops and fees they require. By the time you learn of everything they require, you could have rebuilt the Long Beach Towne Center. And for less money. Blaming it all on the State is pathetic, when they have far easier and cheaper ways to comply.
Most other Cities in this same State are not getting such enormous kick backs from the Waste Suppliers and other municipal utilities which makes living in a neighboring City far less expensive and safer than the once beautiful City of Lakewood.

I have lived in Lakewood for over 25 years. Paid my bills on time and had respect for this city until today. My teenage daughter's car died backing it out of the driveway. Part of the vehicle was extended into the street. I was on my way home to help her move it when the street sweeper came and gave her a ticket. She was standing at her vehicle and explained that it had just died and was disabled and was still cited and treated rudely. I called city hall and was told too bad so sad that's our policy. Well here's my policy. Project mayhem starts tonight. With every 2nd of spare time that I have I will cost the city of Lakewood as much money as I possibly can. I hope a forty dollar ticket is worth the headache you are about to have. In addition I will publicly boycott every single city function thrown by the city of Lakewood for the rest of my life. I seriously don't think you're ready for The determination and creativity of a long time resident scorned. I think you know where you can stick your policies. It's dark and it stinks.
