I had a horrible buying experience from this agent who represented the seller.

There were few episodes I deem non-professional. Here is one of them:

I told my agent to remind the seller about the mail box keys and location before closing and according to my agent they said they will get us the keys from the property manager. To me receiving a set of house keys, remote control for the garage and the mailbox keys is just a normal expectation.

After closing, I received my house keys , one remote control and no mailbox keys and I didn't even know which is my mail box. Of course, I urged my agent to get the mailbox keys. Two days later, my agent informed me that the previous tenants did not return the keys to the sellers and I have to go to the post office and pay for the new keys.

After a week of requests through my agent to Darlene, the final word from Darlene was that I have to go the the post office and pay for the new keys and the post office will tell me which is my mailbox.

Wow, what happen if the tenants did not return the remote controls? I have to buy them too.

Judge for yourself if this is the type of agent that you want to buy a house from. If you want you hundred of thousands purchase rest in such professional manners, you are forewarned.

Why Darlene did not have all the details together before closing, since we already reminded her of the keys? I wonder what an agent is supposed to do?

I guess if you can buy a house you should be able to pay $50 for the mailbox keys!. If I was an real estate agent, I care to have a satisfied customer even if I have to pay for the keys from my commission.

By the way, the mailbox keys cannot be duplicated and neither can you change the lock. It is against the law.

Worst real estate transaction in my life; that is saying something because I have bought and sold many homes in my life. I sold two homes using agents from Century 21 Jordan-Link and I have to say I have never been treated so bad with so much money at stake. The first home I sold was a rental property and the second offer I received (which was asking price) I see an email from my agent saying, "we should take this and run." The home had been on the market less than 90 days and the attitude toward selling it was not representative of my best interests. The market was experiencing a short term slow down because of covid at the time (early March) the offer came in. About 3 weeks into the negotiations with the buyers the market had turned into a seller's market due to the fed dropping rates to historic lows. The negotiations are the main reason for the one star review. The main items were closing costs and a contractor for stucco repair that the buyers demanded on using. I made it clear on what I would contribute to closing (which was 2/3 the full amount) and that if they insisted on using a particular contractor that they could pay for half or I would be using one of my choosing. Long story short after going back and forth with countless addendums regarding everything that I just mentioned as well as carpet allowance and increasing the sale price by $2000 I ended up paying $34000 to close on my house. Granted a lot of that was commission and some repair work. All of the negotiations that had been settled were undone by my agent at the last minute who assured me that they weren't. I don't know if she had too much going on or she intentionally misled me so we could close and the firm could get the commission or both. All I know is it was evident that they worked in the best interests of themselves and the buyers. The buyers didn't pay any closing costs or anything for the repairs that they wanted with the contractor that they requested. I suppose it is worth mentioning that I did demand we cancel the transaction completely after I reviewed the final estimated closing statement. My agents then told me that the buyers would sue me and that I would be barred from selling the property until litigation was settled. I told them that I didn't care because the deal was so bad and that it was mostly their fault for messing it up so much. They insisted that it would be better to be done and over with and in turn gave up their commission, however the portion of commission still went to Jordan-Link. I'm in the process of retaining a lawyer to be made whole on this sale. Stay as far away from Century 21 Jordan-Link as you can if you're selling a home as they are not motivated to represent you; all they want to do is appease the buyers so they can get their cut as fast as possible. Stay away!

I am looking to relocate from Fresno to Bakersfield and found a condo I liked, I contacted the listing agent, Darlene and expressed interest and if she would be willing to show me her own listing. I told her I would be using my local realtor to handle all the paperwork on my end, she then texts me that she doesn't show properties to people if they are working with other realtors. Talk about wanting to double end. I would think Century 21 would want better representation to professionals wanting to relocate to the Bakersfield area. Shame!
