I am a wine retailer out visiting Paso for a couple of weeks. A friend recommended this winery. I looked it up online to find its regular hours. Since it was supposed to be open regularly, I decided to take the long drive out there. I arrived at the property to find the gate open. I went on up and parked in the designated area. Then I followed the path to the tasting room. LOCKED! Banged on the door...no answer. Decided to enjoy the beautiful gardens for a minute while whoever was in the bathroom, came back behind the bar. But to no avail! And, of course, we were so far out that I had no internet service and couldn't call them. The two stars are for the gardens, but, I am highly disappointed that a business that posts regular hours caused me to waste my time and gas. I stopped at a small winery down the street. The woman there said that it has become a common occurrence lately. If you choose to visit there, BE SURE to call first and make sure you won't experience the same thing.

We always have a great time here when visiting Cambria, and LOVE the wine! Such beautiful scenery too, & this visit was even more special getting to meet owners Gary & Marion & Kathleen... don't miss this Winery if you're in the area!!

Marina, I'm so sorry that we missed you. As you pointed out, we are very far out. As a result is can be difficult to find good employees willing to drive so far. Unfortunately your visit coincided with a change in staff. We have now hired additional and dependable staff and hopefully, you will try us again. A phone call is always welcome, but not necessary.

I now only drink carmody mcknight wines and buy their olive oils and balsamic vinegar. All chemical free. I had the pleasure of visiting the vineyards and getting wine knowledge from viticulturist, gary conway. I look forward to visiting again.
