I never write reviews but I feel compelled to leave one for Bob. I engaged Bob as my realtor to sell my late mother's home in Laguna Woods during a painful bi-coastal estate administration process. I was dealing with probate in both CA and NJ, and I personally live in NYC. Bob understood my anxiety from being cross-country from this large physical asset - he was so responsive and plug and play from the beginning, very detail-oriented (so hard to find these days), and responsible, honest, and trustworthy. Bob handled the full cleanout of the house, selling the car, repairs, and liaising with community services. He made sure the paperwork was handled correctly given the probate process. Aside from just being an outstanding human and downright fun to talk to, Bob is probably one of the safest pairs of hands on the West Coast. He made this process worry-free for me, and I will forever be grateful. If only he could clone another of himself for out here in New York.

Two years to the day, we send a HUGE MAHALO to Bob DePew for his 9 month effort to find, purchase, and professionally close escrow on our wonderful little hale in Laguna Woods. Recommended by our family that lives here, Bob listened to us and our desires for something that would work for us RE: a quiet/green location w/ a nice floorplan, design, and amenities. We were finally ready to leave our beloved North Shore Kauai after 50+ years, as sold our hale on a waterfall during COVID knowing it too difficult to retire on Kauai for many reasons. With his knowledge of Hawaii, he understood the magnitude of leaving our tropical paradise with nature, surf, and the culture of Aloha.

As for his calm demeanor: A humble human being, with vast connections and professional experience here, and yes: filled with Aloha himself; it was a perfect fit. As a custom home Gen. Contractor for 40+ years on Kauai, Bob knew what we wanted and would wait it out til he found "The One" Never pushy in his efforts, we requested he send us new listings daily in a very hot market. 7 months of emailed listings daily, then YUP! On this President's Day Weekend, he sent us an Email w/ subject WOW... we opened it up on Friday, looked at the photos and did a Google Earth view, then called him and said "Bookem Dano" and he wrote the proposal immediately. We survived a showing and got a call on Monday saying offer accepted =)

He took care of everything, so no need to get on a plane... His team of escrow professionals, his knowledge of the HOA's and its challenges, along with all the benchmarks to complete in a short timeline were enhanced by connecting us with a wonderful Sister/Brother capital/financial firm that has been just outside the walls of LWV for decades. Lots of unfamiliar escrow turf for me, but he was a great shepherd through the process with it's challenges across Da Pond.

7 weeks later, it closed escrow and i got on a plane to see our new hale and spend a week as a country mouse in da big city navigating TRAFFIC, getting our hale ready for glorified camping for my wife and Papillon who had never seen Laguna Woods. We landed LAX in the dark late June, and woke up to a new world on the Mainland. As we waited 4 weeks for our container from across the pond to arrive (in the midst of the Port of LB shipping horror show), we drove around getting more "stuffs" and noted how close everything was, including all the doctors, vet, Costco, HD, Staters, etc. was to our new home! Lin immediately said she loved it (cept traffic), and "Done Movin". We left grateful and not lookin back.

Bob connected all the dots seamlessly, was always there for us with constant updates and communications via email and phone: you call/he answers: wat a concept in these times. He wasn't kidding wen he said the contractor was great... one of the 2 best in LW. To this day, Billy and Bob are just a phone call away!

In 2020 (yes, during the pandemic!) I bought a co-op in Laguna Woods Village with the help of my realtor, Bob DePew. Bob is a longtime friend of a friend of mine who also lives here in the Village. At 75, it was my first home purchase and I felt very comfortable with Bob's help walking me through the home ownership process! Laguna Woods Village is a wonderful place to live!
