The staff was very friendly and helpful with the leasing process. They answered any questions thoroughly and quickly and made my PCS much less stressful, however I experienced a few issues with information being provided. First issue I had was the day before I was set to move in I was resent the Lease with an extra $100, and some change, up charge for rent. My roommate is a SSgt and the rates for rent are based on the highest ranking members married BAH rate. They had informed me of this and I had accepted under the knowledge that those rates were $2667. I wasn’t informed until they resent me the lease to sign that the rate is ~$2800 and some change. This put some unexpected stress on my budgeting. Coming from an over seas location after a few years and trying to allocate furnishings for the house and getting a car didn’t leave much room for unexpected expenses that I had not planned for. The second thing that had caught me off guard is that on the day of move in was the first day me and my roommate got to see the actual house we had been set to rent out. We had seen floor plans and pictures and my roommate who was on station long before me had even taken a tour of one. It was based off the information he gave me from this tour that I chose this location for housing and the first thing he had noted was that the house we were moving into was not the size he remembered. After dividing up the space in our rooms we find it hard pressed to fit a queen sized mattress with desk chair and dresser inside the bedrooms and still have a little space to move around. My single Airmen dorm bedroom proved the same size if not slightly larger in the 2 other bases I have been. The living room also seems rather small. Almost as if it was squished down after they had drawn the original floor plans. It all just looks small for 2 grown men or even a family. Especially for the price tag that’s attached. I can say that I am thoroughly disappointed with what I got in the end, and it’s definitely thrown some obstacles in my way in terms of my budgeting and what I’m going to have to invest in for furnishings and what I’d actually WANT to be investing in.

We are PCSing from Germany and the folks at the housing office have been nothing but prompt and professional. Every question we had was answered thoroughly. We applied for housing immediately after receiving our orders on July 15, 2021 and we’re just offered a house today, August 31,2021. It will be available in early November, but the month of leave in route we are about to start will make our month in TLF go fast. Thank you!

Tried applying to move on base during my PCS. Submit my application a month and a half in advance and never moved positions on the wait list. There is obviously a serious vacancy issue here. I have never had to wait more than a week to get a home with base housing but now I'm forced to find a home somewhere else. Dont bother with this place unless you have half a year in advance to be on a wait list.
