No one deserves to live in this mold filled, poorly maintained, overpriced, sloppily renovated apartment complex. From the day one of my family members moved in, parts of the flooring were missing and cabinets were filthy and disgusting with signs of water damage and mold. The shower door was rusted and the bath and shower handles were not properly attached. Shortly after they moved in my family started getting chronically ill. I noticed I would start to feel ill as soon as I was in the apartment with them and would feel better after I left. My nephew has been has gotten so sick to the point where he has developed pneumonia. I did a home test for mold, which was positive for mold in every single room of the apartment. We then we had a professional test the apartment for mold, who found substantial growth on the air conditioning units coils. He also found a dead bird inside of the AC cabinet. The management did not have the mold remediated properly, and my family is still having issues with illness. I also feel ill whenever I am there and am immediately better when I leave. It’s criminal how they have treated my family and how they have not brought in the proper mold remediation professionals to handle the situation. Moreover, one of their air conditioners was broken most of the summer. The office staff knew about it and did not take care of it for a very long time. We have had to contact the Beachwood housing inspector on multiple occasions to have things addressed as management has not addressed problems we have had.The pool was also not functional for a good portion of the summer. . My family was not compensated for the broken air conditioner, and the apartment made no effort to provide a suitable replacement in the interim. Photos are from the move in months ago. Toe kick still has not been installed. Currently, my sister does not have heat in half of her apartment. This has been an ongoing problem and tonight the temperature low is supposed to be 33°.

Today is October 27th 2022
Still waiting on a new refrigerator. I was informed it should have been delivered already but hasn’t but will be available tomorrow, Friday.
Motor in the ceiling fan in the dining room still hasn’t been fixed. Cabinet underneath kitchen was not repaired properly. They literally just put white paint over the mold, dirt and dust.
Hot water pressure in kitchen sink is nonexistent. The overhead fan/light above the stove still isn’t working. I’m still unable to use the washer and dryer. Garage door doesn’t open or close. Hopefully it will be repaired soon.
My children and I have not been able to fully move into the apartment because we’re still waiting on repairs to be completed. It’s been two weeks now. I’m expected to pay rent on time buy yet I can’t live in the apartment I’m buying for. I’m beyond frustrated. My next step is taking these issues to the Health department and City. Completely disgusted and disappointed with the way things have been handled.

Still waiting for the apartment to be repaired. Hopefully, everything will be fixed and ready to go some time this week.

Please be mindful when moving here. Look at other apartments before you move here. Literally, just signed my lease and the apartment was not cleaned. Broken floor boards. Broken dishwasher. Mold, scum, lime and water build up under the kitchen sink and in the bathrooms. Front door safety is broken and not fixed. Front door can’t be closed or open without slamming the door. It makes such a loud sound. Black refrigerator is falling apart and wasn’t cleaned. Rust on all silver metal, sliding doors and rods, in both bathrooms. Vents and blinds are so dusty. Screens in windows are bent and can’t be closed. Light above oven is out. There are burn marks on the bathroom sinks. Peeling/chipped paint on the walls and ceiling. Washer has so much old lent, mold and dirt inside of it. Fire hazard. Underneath the stove and and dishwasher, there’s so much old food and trash buildup. Food stains on the wall. I’m very disappointed in how this apartment was presented to me. I was suppose to see the apartment on 10/10/22. However, I got a call that the apartment wasn’t ready and maintenance was doing repairs. Okay that’s fine. So my mom and I were shown a 2 bed 2 bath model instead. We got a tour of the whole community and we were happy with what we saw. Came back the next day, 10/11/22 and got the keys and viewed the apartment. My mom and I took pictures and videos of the entire apartment. Now, please be advised that we couldn’t view the apartment until the lease was signed and I paid the deposit. What we found is unacceptable. There are so many health, safety and fire hazards in this apartment! I’m so disappointed. Yes, I’ve called and emailed the apartment multiple times with no response. I’ve sent the pictures and videos to them. I’ve also contacted maintenance, they have yet to respond.

Communication is poor, apartment I was expected to move into was terrible.
The apartment was very dirty, not fit to be moved into. Broken blinds, mouse glue traps around the apartment, broken lights, screaming bathroom fan, horribly disgusting dirty showers, and more.
Spoke to multiple residents (after I refused to move into the dirty apartment) that stated they’ve had issues with flooding, pests, maintenance, etc.
not a single person was available over the weekend to address our issues, no resident we encountered even had an emergency number.

I’ve been here for 38 days and it has been the worst 38 days! I believe criminals in prison have far better living conditions than Beachwood Apartments. In 38 days, I’ve encountered a mice infestation, it has rained in my bedroom, a painted shut window which is a fire hazard that was supposed to be rectified doing a walk through of the unit, missing parts from the refrigerator, I literally could go on. But the rodent issue I absolutely cannot live with. They stated they have an exterminator that comes every Friday, and was unable to access my unit because they accused me of changed the locks or attaching an additional latch which are both untrue. A locksmith would have to get a property’s permission to change locks to a property I don’t own. The Property manager was supposed to contact me to have exterminator come out today instead of the regularly scheduled Friday, that never happened. I do not want to continue living here any more. If you are looking, do not look here. Please save your money. No one deserves this! I am on mouse number 6 with placing my own traps.

UPDATE: THIS PLACE IS NOW ATTEMPTING TO CHARGE GAS AND ELECTRIC OUTSIDE OF THE GAS AND ELECTRIC BILLS THAT ARE IN MY NAME. THEY ARE SAYING THAT THE ELECTRIC AND GAS THAT IS TO BE PAID TO THEM IS A CONSERVE BILL THAT ALL RESIDENTS SPLIT BASED ON COMMON AREAS, SQUARE FOOTAGE OF UNIT, AND HOW MANY PEOPLE OCCUPY THE UNIT LOL. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS EVER IN MY LIFE. SO THEY ARE BASICALLY SAYING...ON TOP OF PAYING OUR OWN GAS AND ELECTRIC BILLS IN OUR NAME WE ARE ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING THE BUILDING'S ELECTRIC AND GAS BILL. DEFINITELY GOING TO HAVE A LAWYER LOOK INTO THAT I HAVEN'T HEARD OF SUCH AND I DO NOT SEE ANYTHING ABOUT IT IN THE LEASE. I AM ALSO STILL WAITING ON THE NEW FRIDGE THEY PROMISED AS MINE IS STILL WITHOUT SHELVES LOL. THIS PLACE DEFINITELY USES BAIT AND SWITCH METHODS. THEY DRAW YOU IN WITH THE A CREDIT THEN CHARGE SO MANY MISCELLANEOUS CHARGES MONTHLY. IT HASN'T BEEN STRAIGHT FORWARD WITH THEM SINCE THE BEGINNING. THEY ARE ALSO CHARGING ME FOR A TRASH SERVICE I DO NOT UTILIZE. NEVER WAS EXPLAINED THE TRASH SERVICE AND WAS NOT GIVEN A TRASH SERVICE WASTE BASKET, YET THEY ARE STILL CHARGING. PLEASE LOOK FOR SOMEWHERE ELSE TO LIVE IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING THIS PLACE, YOU ARE GOING TO BE PISSED. THE MICE, THE BUGS, THE MISC CHARGES ARE NOT EVEN WORTH IT. I CANNOT WAIT TO BE MOVED FROM HERE!

By far the worst apartment building in Beachwood. Stay away. For the money you will be paying here you are better off staying at any other apartment. Management is terrible and careless. They do not have a regular maintenance man so the apartment is very unkept. The dirtiest rugs I've ever seen in an apartment or a house. Half The lighting around the apartment complex doesn't work so you will be coming home to pitch blackness walking into your apartment door. Children ripping and running throughout and in and out the buildings graffiti on the wall from the kids drawing on the wall. Chewing gun on the elevator doors. The hallway as you walk into the building smells like dog urine dog, urine stains from dogs peeing on the couch inside the lobby. Almost all the garage doors are busted on all the garages in the complex. There's no regular maintenance man so the trash often gets backed up all the way to the fourth floor. Stay away. Trust me.

Where do i start...
I messaged them my intended move in date (Jan 3, 2023) and they said the unit was available so I went through the tedious application process (+$50), then several WEEKS later they finally got back to me but sent me the lease with wrong person's name and move in date on it. They said I needed to move in THAT WEEK and that I couldn't have my already stated move-in date be 2 weeks later like I had originally applied for and been accepted on. They said they can't hold the apartment for 'that long' and that I'd need to either pay $250 to 'hold' the apartment for 2 weeks, and that I'd likely be charged a higher rental rate in January,,, or I could sign the lease for a move-in date a week before I actually moved in so I could actually get the monthly rate they quoted to me to get me apply.
Sara La**** was deceitful and predatory to scrape a couple hundred dollars out of me.
On the morning of Jan 3rd when I arrived in Cleveland, Sara had told me to meet her at 9am, but when I showed up, she wasn't working that day, hadn't warned anybody, and the other leasing office workers had no idea who I was and that I couldn't move in because some paperwork they needed wasn't done or something.

They also wouldn't itemize my rent when I asked and rent would fluctuate over a hundred dollars from month to month but they wouldn't tell me why. Seems illegal honestly.

Then they gave me instructions that I needed to set up utilities in my own name (even though they don't even bill me directly and instead I pay an average amount based on building usage and my apartment sq. ft.), but after hours of waiting on hold and being told by the utility company that they can't find a meter for our building and the leasing office insisting multiple times that the utility company need to try harder, the leasing office said 'oh sorry, actually you don't sign up for gas here'...

The package room is so disorganized it can take up to 30 minutes to find a package, and sometimes you'll get a notification that you received a package, only to find out 30 minutes later after you've checked every single package that yours is not there.

Several hoodlums smoked weed and got in arguments OFTEN in the parking lot late into the night. I got woken up from them honking their horn or house rattling music 5 times in 6 months.

Lastly to add insult to injury, I left that apartment clean and much better than I got it, (when I moved in it had uninstalled blinds left on the floor in my room, drywall repair plaster spilled all over the house, dusty, none of the floors vacuumed, and some old tenant's junk left in the bathroom) but they didn't return about $500 of my security deposit. I asked what the deduction was made for but they ignored my question and proceeded to take over 3 MONTHS to return any of my security deposit.

Updates: Just stay away from this apartment for your entire life. I’m not using my real name since you can see they want to identify you through their system and that’s literally horrible experience and unsafe. I will never delete this review and I hope everyone can read it before making an appointment. They didn’t solve any issues until today. Stop pretending that you guys care about the residents, that’s nasty since you absolutely do not.
This apartment is a scam. They post nice pictures on the website, but you will move into a terrible unit that they don't prepare for you. The stoves are old and unusable, and the window blinds don't work, so you'll feel like you're on a reality show for everyone walking by. You definitely have no privacy and they don't care. The shower is broken and alternates between extremely hot and cold water. When you talk to the manager, he claims these issues are easy to fix and then disappears. We submitted maintenance requests, but no one ever shows up to address them. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this fraudulent apartment complex. They will charge you two-month rent if you want to move out and you need to notice them earlier than 60 days.

I’m unfortunately stuck here until the end of my lease but I just received a bill in the mail that I was not made aware of when signing my lease. It was almost $160 on top of the rent I already pay. Utilities I was told were included in the rent were on this bill and they are even charging for “common area electricity” I’ve had so many issues since moving in. My air conditioning has stopped working 3 times in 2 months. And even with temperatures in the 90’s since my last request no one has even offered me a portable unit. The hallways are dirty and have a weird smell. There is constantly trash in the hallways and elevators. Kids yelling in the hallways. I wish I had just taken the reviews more seriously. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. They are not upfront with what you will be paying. I feel like I have been scammed. It’s not worth it at all. I’ll be moving at the end of my lease.
