Completely pompous attitude and difficult to work with. One of the co-founders Ted truly didn't care about customer service. Maybe he's so busy he doesn't care. But his attitude was what got me perturbed. A quote was given for the appraisal and I accepted. But they wanted the money up front along with the agreement signed. I've done a lot of real estate deals with some appraisals and have never been demanded all of the fees up front. I have no problem paying but 100% upfront just didn't seem right. I asked whether I could pay half and the rest upon completion of the appraisal. He said that's how they do it and was just pompous about it. He eventually, very begrudgingly agreed to half up front and he wouldn't release the appraisal until the other half was paid. I thought that was fair but he was so sour about it that I decided a person like that is not worth trusting my commercial appraisal with. I moved on but simple human kindness is absolutely needed by this man. If he's so busy that he can be a jerk like that...more power to him. But what goes around will come around.
I ended up interviewing and going with an appraisal company that was about 20% higher in their fees. They convinced me with simple human courtesy and respect. Ted has been put to bed.
